Alex Kane On The Culture In MLW: A Great Show Starts In The Locker Room

The sky is the limit.

This week, the Wrestling Perspective Podcast guest was MLW Heavyweight Champion Alex Kane with Dennis Farrell and Lars Frederiksen. Farrell asks Kane how he would help elevate MLW to the next level since he is the face of the company. Kane explains that it all starts in the locker room.

Kane says, “Definitely, the locker room culture has always been cool at MLW, but in the last six or seven months, it’s been kind of like off. As the face of the company, the locker room leader, I like to think a great show starts in the locker room, try to foster that environment where we can all talk to each other, we can all be cool or whatever.”

Alex Kane believes fostering a positive locker room culture is his biggest job. The Heavyweight Champion became the face of the company when he defeated Alex Hammerstone at MLW’s Never Say Never to win his first MLW Heavyweight Championship.

“We all cheer each other on, give each other advice and stuff like that. I feel like just having that kind of locker room culture is going take us to the next level. Because if every single match from the bottom to the top of the card is on the same page; we’re here tonight, we’re here to put on the best show possible. We’ll tell the best stories, get over, and all that other stuff. If we’re all on one accord and all have the same mindset. I feel like the sky is the limit, but everybody has their egos or whatever.” Said Kane.

“This is a business; your time [is] sometimes up, and sometimes your time’s not. Suppose people don’t understand that aspect of it. We could definitely tank and destroy everything. So, as the face of the company, my biggest job is fostering a positive locker culture.” Kane said.

Alex Kane defended his MLW Heavyweight Championship title against Willie Mack at MLW Fury Road on Sunday, September 3rd. The results for the event can be seen by clicking here.
