As announced during the February 14 episode of the show, Hammerstone will put the title on the line against Dragon Gate star YAMATO on Tuesday night. YAMATO has enjoyed plenty of success in Dragon Gate; he has held the Open The Dream Gate Championship, the Open the Triangle Gate Championship, and the Open the Twin Gate Championship. The match was taped at MLW Blood & Thunder 2023 on January 7.
MLW also promoted Hammerstone’s upcoming title match against Jacob Fatu, who earned the right to challenge for the gold by winning the 2022 Battle Riot. Hammerstone previously beat Fatu to win the world title at MLW Fightland 2021.
Plus, The Billington Bulldogs (Tom & Mark Billington) will compete on MLW Underground next week, though their opponents were not named. Mark and Tom are the nephews of the Dynamite Kid. Davey Boy Smith Jr. discussed their arrival in MLW on Tuesday by calling the three of them the past, present, and future of wrestling.
