Aleister Black Discusses His Experience With NXT At The 2017 ‘Download Festival’

Aleister Black talks his love of heavy metal music and pro wrestling.

This upcoming Friday the NXT crew will be heading to 'Donington Park' in the United Kingdom for the 'Download Festival' which is a yearly British rock festival that as of 2016 began to feature pro wrestling. The founder and senior producer of NXT Triple H orchestrated the move to have NXT showcased at the 'Download Festival' and the brand will be returning once again for a third go-around. A few of the first-round matches of the WWE United Kingdom Championship tournament will be taking place and the current NXT Champion Aleister Black will be in action as well.

"The Ominous Man from Amsterdam" is a heavy metal fan and during an interview 'Metal Hammer' Aleister Black spoke on his first experience at the festival as a part of NXT in 2017.

“We would enter into the backstage area, we’d drive through in the bus, and the whole thing just blew my mind." He said. "The production, the way that Download and NXT have worked together to make it look like the coolest thing in the world. Wrestling and metal, it just goes hand in hand. I’ve said this before, but I think it’s because of my lack of talent as a musician that I’m a professional wrestler. Metal is the coolest, and it has so many similarities to what we do. Bands travel, we travel; bands perform somewhere every single night, we perform somewhere every single night.”

Aleister Black further dove into his love of heavy metal music, shared some of his favorite bands and more. To read the full interview, click here.
