Alberto El Patron Is Opening Another Restaurant; Discusses Why He Closed His Last Establishment
Alberto El Patron is getting back into the culinary business.
In November of 2017, it was reported by ‘My San Antonio’ that the Mexican restaurant owned by former 4-time WWE World Champion Alberto El Patron was closing. There was never a definite reason or hint provided as to why the restaurant was closing other than barricades being set up outside of it, the space going for sell and all of the social media pages for El Patron’s food eatery being taken down.
Alberto explained why he had to close the restaurant when he joined Busted Open Radio with Dave LaGreca and WWE Hall Of Famer Mark Henry recently. El Patron stated that the franchise he partnered with named ‘La Cantinita’ robbed him of his money. He added that the main reason the business began to drown was because he was never there but he will be opening a new restaurant which will be ran by his two sisters in more of a family-owned-style business opposed to aligning himself with a franchise or organization.
“Well I had to close that one because I went into business with this Mexican franchise La Cantinita and I have to say it again – La Cantinita and those bastards came to San Antonio just to steal my money. Because I was never there.” He explained. “I’m always traveling, I’m always on the road, so I was not there checking stuff up and seeing… yes, yes, you have to be there. So by the time I had my sister coming into San Antonio to take care of the business it was too late so when I saw the boat was sinking I said, ‘I’m closing this place down’. I got some of my money – most of money back. I got… cause’ I ended up suing those guys – I got like 70, 80 percent of my money back, and now we’re about to open the restaurant again. This is gonna happen in six, seven more weeks but this time I’m doing it with my sisters. They are the ones taking care of my investments and my kids and my life and my everything, and… but this time it’s going to be run just by my family. I’m not gonna have any strange people or friends to call it like that or pretending to be friends running my business because when you do that, when you’re not there, I mean, you know, you’re gonna get robbed.” He concluded.
On top of Alberto hopping back into the restaurant business, he is also considering a return to the octagon. El Patron stated during an interview in October that he feels motivated to return to MMA and wants to prove that he can still go with the best the sport has to offer.
