A Comprehensive History Of AJ Styles Being Bad At Video Games

As the current WWE United States champion, AJ Styles is used to winning in the ring. So, when he tastes defeat, Styles doesn’t exactly lose in the most graceful manner.

That was how Styles reacted to being ousted by Kofi Kingston in Thursday’s WWE x IGN eSports Showdown. The two combatants showed off their skills during a Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite Tournament, with “Mr. 24/7” sweeping “The Princes of Phenomenal” three games to none.

Here’s the final sequence that ended AJ’s quest to add another trophy to his case and the fallout.

Breaking controllers has become a habit for AJ. He infamously threw Xavier Woods’ controller out into AT&T Stadium following a loss.

You would think Styles would be used to losing at video games by now. As a regular on Wood’s UpUpDownDown channel, we’ve seen first hand that it’s the man behind the controller, not the controller, at fault for the losses.

It started months ago when Styles lost to Seth Rollins in the finals of the Madden 17 tournament.

He didn’t fare any better in the Madden 18 rematch.

Sandwiched between those two losses was a defeat alongside Charlotte at the hands of Neville and Sasha Banks in a tag team Rocket League bout.

He even lost a Mario Kart showdown on the Nintendo Switch to Randy Orton. However, in this case, he provided a potentially valid excuse.

Not even WWE 2K18 AJ Styles could pick up a victory in a simulated match against Shawn Michaels.

It’s a good thing Styles is one of the best wrestlers in the world because his video game skills leave a lot to be desired.
