AJ Styles Says That He Wanted “Beat Up John Cena” Shirts But Vince McMahon Denied His Request

AJ Styles does not think the head honcho will approve of “Beat Up Seth Rollins” shirts either.

“The Phenomenal” AJ Styles is on a collision course with Seth Rollins that has its final stop at the Money In The Bank pay-per-view on May 19th where he and Rollins will clash for the WWE Universal Championship. Last week on RAW, Seth and AJ signed the contract to make their match official and it turned into a brawl that ended with AJ delivering a “Phenomenal Forearm” to Rollins through a table.

After the show, AJ booted up his live stream on ‘Mixer’ and before he began gaming, he answered a number of questions from the live chat and one user proposed that AJ get some “Beat Up Seth Rollins” shirts made. AJ responded by revealing that he asked to have “Beat Up John Cena” shirts made during his feud with the former 16-time WWE World Champion but that request was denied by Vince McMahon.

“Well, I’ll have you know that we wanted to have ‘Beat Up John Cena’ shirts while that was going on, but that was a no-go from the boss. He didn’t care for that too much so, I doubt he’ll get with the ‘Beat Up Rollins’ [shirts] so…” Styles said.

The last time that John Cena was present on WWE programming was at WrestleMania 35 where he returned as the “Doctor Of Thuganomics” and gave Elias an “Attitude Adjustment”.
