AJ Styles Says He Enjoyed Doing The Boneyard Match, Hopes To Run It Back With The Undertaker
AJ Styles is alive and well after his Boneyard Match against The Undertaker.
Styles wrestled Undertaker at WrestleMania 36 in the first-ever Boneyard Match, but lost after Undertaker buried him alive. Days later, Styles streamed on his Mixer account to discuss the match, saying he was very proud of it.
“It was one of those things, the match was different and I told you that you never know what you’re going to get. I was very pleased with it. The majority of wrestling fans were happy with that. It was different,” Styles said.
While there is no word on if Undertaker will return, Styles did say he would love to run it again with The Phenom and hoped the current situation with the ongoing coronavirus dies down soon so that they can still do SummerSlam as intended.
“It was a great match. I really enjoyed it. I hope we’re able to do it again, I don’t know, being in a ring with thousands of people watching around you. That would be something. I hope that once this whole thing’s over, let’s just say there is a chance [WWE does] SummerSlam, we’re able to do it. I hope we’re able to do it, show you guys and let’s rock this thing, make it our WrestleMania,” Styles said.
Styles would go on to also poke fun at himself. During the Boneyard Match, several druids arrived to attack Undertaker, but were unsuccessful. Styles called the druids that he hired the worst in druid history.
“Who were the druids? I don’t know. Obviously, I must have hired the worst druids and the worst fighters in druid history. They got beat up pretty easily,” Styles said.
