AJ Styles: I Was Expecting A Problem When CM Punk Came Here, I Was Wrong

AJ Styles comments on CM Punk coming to WWE.

AJ Styles and CM Punk have a long history, coming up together on the independent scene and sharing the ring early in their careers. They’ve taken shots at each other on social media and in interviews in the past.

They now work in the same company again as Punk returned to WWE at Survivor Series 2023.

Appearing on The Ringer Wrestling Show, AJ Styles was asked for his thoughts on Punk’s return.

“If you know anything about AJ Styles and CM Punk, you would know that we really don’t care for each other. If you want me to ruin everything you think you know, I can. Here it is. Past performance predicts future behavior, right? Some over at AEW are my best friends. Love them, trust them, know them. I was expecting a problem when he came here. I was wrong. The guy looks like he’s happy to be here. He looks like a guy that I want to step into the ring with and tear the house down with. So, I can’t wait until that tricep of his is ready to rock so we can tear the house down,” said Styles.

Punk is currently sidelined with a torn tricep, but will be part of the WrestleMania 40 Kickoff shows.

Styles will take on LA Knight at WrestleMania 40.
