AJ Styles Feels Like Edge Is One Of The Last Dream Matches He Has Left

AJ Styles wants to go one-on-one with a WWE Hall of Famer.

Despite lasting longer in this year’s Royal Rumble match than any other participant, AJ Styles was ultimately unsuccessful in locking down a WrestleMania main event at last weekend’s show. Though his path will now take him to Elimination Chamber, which he qualified for on Monday by defeating Rey Mysterio, AJ has another WrestleMania dream match in mind if all else fails.

Speaking with Steven Muehlhausen of DAZN, Styles was not shy to admit that he want to face Edge.

“I want Edge,” Styles said. “I feel like it’s one of the last dream matches I have left. And the fact that it wasn’t possible a couple of years ago due to him not being cleared is something I really want. The fact he came back now makes that match a definite possibility, and I’d like to have it at WrestleMania.”

Edge made his return to the ring two years ago after nearly a decade away due to a neck injury. Last January, Edge returned once again at the Royal Rumble from a torn triceps and hit AJ with a Spear that Styles claims caused a shoulder separation.

During a recent appearance on WWE’s The Bump, Styles commented that a match with Edge was “getting close.” You can read his full remarks here.

At the 2022 Royal Rumble, Edge teamed up with his wife, Beth Phoenix, to defeat The Miz and Maryse.
