AJ Styles Becomes The Only Grand Slam Champion In Both WWE And TNA/IMPACT Wrestling
AJ Styles made wrestling history at WrestleMania 37.
AJ Styles has been in WWE for the last five years and in that time, he has grown to be one of the names synonymous with the promotion that he was once one of the only major stars to have never wrestled in.
For the majority of his career, AJ Styles was synonymous with TNA Wrestling, the precursor to IMPACT Wrestling. AJ Styles was the first X-Division Champion and had several runs as both a World Heavyweight Champion and a Tag Team Champion in TNA Wrestling when they were under the NWA umbrella and when they branched out on their own.
After capturing the WWE Raw Tag Team Championship with his bodyguard, Omos, AJ Styles became the first wrestler in history to be a Grand Slam Champion and both WWE and TNA/IMPACT Wrestling.
Yes, AJ Styles is now the only wrestler to have ever held the WWE Championship, the WWE Intercontinental Championship, the WWE United States Championship, a WWE Tag Team Championship, the TNA Tag Team Championship, the TNA World Heavyweight Championship, the TNA X-Division Championship, and the TNA Television Championship.
In addition to these accomplishments, AJ Styles currently can say he had the last match of The Undertaker’s legendary career and is the longest-reigning WWE Champion in the history of the Friday Night SmackDown brand, have they won the championship from Jinder Mahal in 2017 and carried the Friday Night SmackDown brand’s top championship for a year, losing to Daniel Bryan just before Survivor Series. Previously, this was an accolade that JBL previously held during his only run as champion.
