AJ Lee Discusses How Her Life Has Changed After WWE

Sleep and donuts appear to be two of the new favorite passions of AJ Lee.

The former WWE Divas Champion and wife of CM Punk turned published author talked about how her life has changed since leaving WWE while participating in a Q&A on Post It Forward, a Tumblr platform that advocates mental health and wellness.

AJ Lee left WWE and retired from wrestling in the spring of 2015. That was a little more than a year after her husband — then boyfriend — left the company over dissatisfaction over a variety of issues.

"I sleep. Damn do I sleep," AJ wrote when asked about how her life had changed since leaving pro wrestling. "Also I'm about fifteen pounds heavier because donuts. Do you know about donuts? Donuts."

AJ has written a book, titled "Crazy Is My Superpower: How I Triumphed by Breaking Bones, Breaking Hearts, and Breaking the Rules." She was asked what her favorite chapter was to write.

"My letter to my future daughter was the first thing I wrote," she replied. "It was my way of letting my editors know how ridiculous the tone of this book would be while still trying to send a positive message, and they were awesome about it. I also got to type 'morning boners' so it's maybe my greatest professional accomplishment."

AJ, who has gone on the record before on her battle with bipolar disorder — something she fought even while portraying a self-described "crazy chick" on WWE programming — described the process of writing the book as "free therapy.

"It definitely helped me heal old wounds. Once the book was finished I realized that if I take a huge goal one day at a time I can accomplish anything. Pretty sure this is my super hero origin story…"

While doing media to promote the release of her book earlier this spring, AJ did not close the door on a possible return to wrestling. However, the couple's relationship with WWE remains quite estranged.
