Ahmed Johnson: Scott Hall Was The Only Person That Wasn’t Jealous Of Me And Helped Me Out

Ahmed Johnson praises Scott “Razor Ramon” Hall.

Ahmed Johnson’s arrival in WWE in 1995 was met with high hopes from those working behind the scenes and excitement from the fans of the then-World Wrestling Federation. While Johnson was only in WWE until 1998, he did make history as the first-ever as the first Black WWE Intercontinental Champion.

For the first six months of his WWE tenure, Johnson was able to interact with Razor Ramon. Ramon was on his way out of WWE to jump to WCW and form the nWo. Speaking on Developmentally Speaking, Johnson praised Razor as the one individual who wasn’t jealous of success.

“The thing that got me the most is how jealous everybody was. I mean, they’re grown men, man. If you’re jealous then bring yourself up to my level. Do what I’m doing. Don’t sit there and then be jealous of me. The only person that wasn’t jealous of me and helped me out was Razor Ramon. Razor Ramon would watch my matches. when I got done, I’d come to the back. He would like, ‘Big man, this looked good.’ I mean, he would actually critique my matches for me.”

Ahmed recently spoke about his WWE departure and how the WCW locker room differed from that of the “New York.” Learn more here.

Ahmed Johnson was also in a couple of WWE video games. Read his thoughts on those experiences here.
