On the October 14 episode of AEW Collision, Renee Paquette interviewed AEW World Trios Champions The Acclaimed (Max Caster and Anthony Bowens) and Billy Gunn. Gunn and Bowens were trying to help Caster work on his relationship skills, but Caster asked Renee about her “oral sessions.” Daniel Garcia, Matt Menard, and Angelo Parker, alongside Jake Hager, interrupted.
The former Jericho Appreciation Society members told The Acclaimed that they were stale. Menard then challenged the champions to a match on October 21. The broadcast team then confirmed the match for AEW Battle of the Belts VIII.
