AEW Viewership Rises, NXT Viewership Falls On 1/13
AEW Dynamite saw its viewership rise on January 13th while NXT saw a decrease in viewership following New Year’s Evil.
According to ShowBuzz Daily, Dynamite this week only accumulated 762,000 viewers, up from last week’s 662,000. This number was more than 100,000 more than NXT’s accumulated 551,000. For NXT, this number is down from last week’s 641,000.
In the 18-49 demographic, AEW drew a .30 up from the .25 last week. NXT saw a decrease from a .16 to .14.
NXT presented the beginning of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, the debut of MSK, the former Rascalz, and began the early stages of Finn Balor feuding with Pete Dunne.
Over on AEW, Chris Jericho and the Inner Circle presented their New Year’s resolutions and saw the in-ring debut of Gallows and Anderson from IMPACT Wrestling. Gallows and Anderson will tag with Kenny Omega this Saturday at IMPACT Hard To Kill 2021.
Outside of wrestling, unexpected political events, including the second impeachment of Donald Trump, were dominating the news cycle, which would have dominated the cable news channels.
