AEW Late Night Dynamite 9/22 Viewership Is In, Outperformed Several Recent NXT Shows In Ratings
Despite a very late start time on the East Coast, AEW’s special Late Night Dynamite special still brought a fair amount of viewers.
According to numbers released by Showbuzz Daily, the September 22 episode of Dynamite, which was a one-hour show that aired after TNT’s coverage of the NBA Playoffs, averaged 585,000 viewers. The show aired past midnight on the East Coast, right after the “Inside The NBA Playoffs” program that followed the Los Angeles Lakers vs. Denver Nuggets game. “Inside The NBA Playoffs” averaged 1.743 million viewers and the Lakers vs. Nuggets game averaged 4.828 million viewers.
Dynamite drew a 0.26 rating in the 18-49 demo, which ended up being ninth best on cable for the day, as well as a 0.19 rating in the 18-34 demo and a 0.20 rating in the 50+ demo. At a 0.26 rating, Dynamite on September 22 outdrew NXT’s ratings in the 18-49 demo for September 16 (0.18), September 8 (0.22), August 26 (0.24), August 19 (0.24) & August 12 (0.16) and tied with September 1 (0.26).
The special Late Night Dynamite featured Ben Carter vs. Scorpio Sky, Anna Jay vs. Brandi Rhodes and Matt Sydal vs. Shawn Spears. Dynamite will have its usual two-hour broadcast on Wednesdays on September 23.
