AEW Dynamite Results For 11/17/21 Tomohiro Ishii and Orange Cassidy vs. The Butcher and The Blade

– The show begins with highlights from AEW Full Gear this past weekend in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

– AEW and Hall of Fame commentator Jim Ross begins tonight’s telecast as he usually does “It’s Wednesday Night, and you know what that means.” First, Ross welcomes the viewer to Virginia. It is “National Cowboy Shit Day.” Ross then welcomes his colleagues Tony Schiavone and Excalibur to the show, and they begin going over tonight’s card.

– Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks, and Adam Cole are backstage. Omega says he wants them to hold down the fort while he is gone, and Adam Cole says, “Don’t worry, Cleaner, I got this.”

– All The Dark Order members are in the ring to welcome the new AEW Heavyweight Champion “Hangman” Adam Page. Page enters the ring with the crowd chanting, “Cowboy Shit.” Page stops the crowd from chanting, “you deserve it,” he says he will correct them, and “he earned it.”

Page says he wants to stay in the ring and celebrate “National Cowboy Shit Day with you.” Page says he knows that this title carries a lot of responsibility and that Bryan Danielson is up next. Danielson comes down the ramp clapping for Page, and then he grabs a microphone before entering the ring. Danielson says, “he came out to say one thing, and that is congratulations “Hangman” Adam Page.” But, Danielson says, “he is surprised and disappointed its Page in the ring and not Kenny Omega.” Page says, “he’s not in the ring because he kicked his ass at Full Gear.”

Bryan says, “when he wrestles Page for that title, he won’t be in a Ghostbusters Halloween costume. He is there to wrestle, but Page is here to flap his gums.” Danielson said when he won the title at Wrestlemania, he wrestled the next night. Hangman and Danielson get into each other’s faces and push each other. Next, the Dark Order separates both Page and Danielson. Danielson says “that The Dark Order won’t let him go because they know I’ll kick his ass.” Page then takes Danielson down; Danielson rolls outside the ring as we go to a commercial break.

Evil Uno vs. Bryan Danielson

We return from the break, and the bell rings with Evil Uno and Bryan Danielson; Danielson takes Evil Uno down rather quickly. Danielson takes Evil Uno down again with ease; Evil Uno takes Danielson down with a shoulder tackle. Evil Uno goes at Danielson and gets a few shots in; Danielson chops Evil Uno hard and knocks him down; Danielson then begins striking Evil Uno with some quick pins and a quick suplex.

Danielson continues to punish Evil Uno with a series of kicks. Evil Uno gets back up, daring Danielson to hit him. Danielson pushes the face of Evil Uno three times, Evil Uno has enough, and he takes Danielson down with a series of heavy chops and kicks. Next, Evil Uno hits Danielson with a swinging neckbreaker. Uno then hits Danielson twice with a big boot, Danielson is getting mad, and Danielson hits Uno with a rolling elbow strike and then maybe five or six punches to the face.

Danielson gets in the face of Evil Uno, asking him why is he trying to embarrass him? First, Danielson hits Evil Uno with a big knee, and then he grabs the arms of Uno and slams his foot into him multiple times. Finally, Danielson submits Evil Uno with a triangle choke to get the win. After the interview, Danielson says he will go through every member of The Dark Order and challenges Colt Cabana for next week’s AEW Dynamite.

Winner: Bryan Danielson

– MJF is cutting a promo, and he is glad he was able to prove everyone wrong. He loves that people hate him and that they realize just how good he is.

– We return from the commercial break, and we are shown highlights from his match against CM Punk at Full Gear. He gets interrupted right away by Daniel Garcia and 2.0. Eddie Kingston challenges Garcia to a match.

The Butcher and The Blade (w/ Matt Hardy and The Bunny) vs. Orange Cassidy and Tomohiro Ishii ( w/ Rocky Romero)

Tomohiro Ishii and The Blade begin the match. The Blade gets a few punches in on Ishii; however, Ishii takes him down quickly. Orange Cassidy is tagged in, and he takes The Blade down with ease. The Blade goes after Orange Cassidy; however, The Blade missed; however, get the blind tag. The Butcher is in, and he takes down Cassidy with a big shoulder tackle.

Cassidy is sent to the outside and is then attacked by The Bunny and Matt Hardy. Unfortunately, the referee is distracted; we go to a picture-in-picture commercial break with The Butcher and The Blade in control. We return from the break, and Ishii gets the hot tag from Cassidy. Ishii takes The Blade down after multiple strikes; eventually, The Blade tags The Butcher, and now Ishii and The Butcher are in each other’s faces.

The Butcher begins hitting Ishii with some massive chops, and now Ishii is mad; nothing The Butcher does affects Ishii. The Butcher hits Ishii with probably 12-15 punches; Ishii returns and hits The Butcher twice. Ishii then hits The Butcher with the superplex; he goes for the pin; however, The Blade saves. Ishii tags himself in; Ishii is landing multiple elbow strikes in on The Butcher. Matt Hardy and The Bunny distract the ref; Rocky Romero stops The Blade from using brass knuckles. Orange Cassidy takes out The Butcher and Matt Hardy, allowing Ishii to hit The Blade with a delayed brainbuster to get the victory.

Winners: Tomohiro Ishii and Orange Cassidy (w/ Rocky Romero)

– Tony Schiavone is in the back to interview Andrade El Idolo and FTR; Andrade says he is a better wrestler than PAC and Cody. FTR says they were supposed to make history at Full Gear; they tell Andrade that they will waive their fee and team up with him and Malakai to take on Cody and PAC in an 8-man tag-team match.

– We get highlights from Tay Conti and Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D. match from Full Gear. Tony Schiavone is backstage with Dr. Britt Baker, Rebel, and Jamie Hayter. Baker says she is tired of carrying the Women’s division. Schiavone brings up Hayter’s match against Thunder Rosa next week.

TBS Women’s Tournament Quarterfinals Match
Nyla Rose (w/ Vickie Guerrero) vs. Hikaru Shida

The match begins with Nyla Rose getting a big right hand in on Hikaru Shida. Shida delivers a series of strikes on Nyla Rose and has the upper hand until Rose catches Shida and hits her with a quick suplex. Shida sends Rose to the outside and now has the upper hand. Rose then begins stomping on the inside of Shida’s leg. Nyla Rose uses the ropes to get an extra advantage; Rose distracts the referee, and Vickie Guerrero chokes Shida.

Rose then tosses Shida into the corner, turnbuckle knees first. Shida has a chair set up, but she takes her focus off of Shida for too long. Shida is now sitting in the chair, and Rose goes for a diving senton, but Rose misses. Shida grabs the Singapore cane that Vickie Guerrero was going to use and instead hits Vickie with it. Shida gets back into the ring and goes up top on the turnbuckle; however, Rose gets knocked down right away.

We then head out for another picture-in-picture commercial break with Rose in control. Finally, we return with Shida in control; however, the ref is distracted again, and Serena Deeb takes the knee out of Shida and leaves the ring.

Rose dives off the top turnbuckle with a leg drop; Nyla is going for the Beach Bomb, however Shida counters and then has Rose in a triangle lock. Rose goes for another senton, but she misses, Rose grabs Shida and stretches her out with the stretch muffler, and Shida has to tap out. Nyla will now advance and take on either Kris Statlander or Ruby Soho.

Winner: Nyla Rose (w/ Vickie Guerrero)

– Malakai Black talks about his match next week on AEW Dynamite in Chicago. Malakai Black, Andrade El Idolo, FTR vs. Cody Rhodes, PAC, and The Lucha Bros.

– MJF comes out to cut a promo with Shawn Spears and Wardlow. MJF comes out and begins insulting the fans in attendance. MJF says he is the complete man in the business and will be the one who starts a bidding war in 2024. MJF says that he could take Adam Page’s title, and he deserves it. MJF says nobody in that locker room is as good as him. He is then interrupted by CM Punk! Punk walks to the ring slowly and is just staring at MJF. The crowd begins chanting “holy shit,” and MJF stops them. MJF is somewhat dumbfounded that Punk puts his hand out to shake Punk’s hand, and Punk looks down, smiles, and walks away. MJF cannot believe what he just saw, and the promo ends.

– Darby Allin cuts a promo and is interrupted by Billy, Colten, and Austin Gunn. Billy Gunn challenges him, and then The Gunn Club walks away. Allin says, “screw it, let’s do it.”

– We return from the break, and The SuperKliq says they were embarrassed; Adam Cole says that The Young Bucks are not cleared so that he will team up with one of his best friends Bobby Fish. Fish says that they will take care of Jurassic Express, and he finishes the line by saying, “and that’s.” He gets stopped by Matt Jackson and says to “cut it; you can’t say that” about WWE’s Undisputed Era.

The Acclaimed vs. Dante Martin and Lio Rush

Max Caster and Anthony Bowens are making their way to the ring, and Caster is rapping; before he finishes, they both get hit by a diving Dante Martin. Then, the match begins, and Dante Martin has the upper hand until Max Caster trips Dante Martin up when running the ropes.

Dante Martin is in the middle of the ring, and Caster jumps on top of Martin with a foot stomp. Anthony Bowens and Max Caster are double-teaming Dante Martin, beating him down with ease and not getting to Lio Rush for the tag. Caster hits Martin with a swinging neckbreaker as we go to a picture-in-picture commercial break.

We return from the break, and Dante Martin uses the backs of Bowens and Caster to get to Lio Rush for the hot tag. Rush clears the ring and is in control; all four men are now in the ring; Bowen hits Lio Rush with a series of strikes, and Dante Martin comes in for the save with a massive dropkick from the top rope. The Acclaimed hit the Claim to Fame; however, Dante Martin breaks up the pin. First, Martin hits Caster with a colossal shotgun dropkick. Then, Martin hits a big nose dive takedown, and Lio Rush hits a big frog splash to victory. After the match, Team Taz comes out and attempts to recruit Dante Martin again.

Winners: Dante Martin and Lio Rush

– Christian Cage and Jurassic Express cut a promo and accepted Adam Cole and Bobby Fish’s challenge.

– We then get a rundown for what matches will be on AEW Rampage and what matches we will see next week on AEW Dynamite.

– The Lucha Bros. cut a promo and talked about how they will win their eight-man tag match next week.

TNT Championship Match
Jay Lethal vs. Sammy Guevara (C)

Before the match, Tony Neese is shown watching from ringside. The bell rings, and both men tie up; both men exchange and counter each other moves for a good minute to start things off. Lethal hits Guevara with a quick dropkick, Lethal goes for the pin, but Sammy kicks out at two. Lethal is going for a dive, but he hits Lethal with a big rising knee strike and then hits Lethal with a big dive over the top rope.

Guevara grabs Lethal and gets him back into the ring; Guevara goes for the shooting star press. Lethal gets his knees up, and Guevara takes Lethal knees to the ribs. They head out for their last picture-in-picture commercial break with the action on the outside. During the break, the medical team is checking on Sammy Guevara, he is trying to push them away, but they still check him out. They help Guevara up, but he is good to go; Guevara makes the trainer go away.

Guevara then flips off Lethal and tells him “to bring it” the action goes back and forth, and Sammy hits a Spanish fly. Lethal now goes for a tope suicida; however, Guevara catches him and hits Lethal with a brainbuster. Then, Guevara hits Lethal with another big knee strike outside of the ring. Next, Guevara goes to the outside and dives for Lethal; however, Lethal moves, and Guevara goes through the table. Lethal is going for a submission hold; however, Guevara grabs the ropes, and the ref breaks it up.

Next, Lethal goes for a dragon suplex, Guevara lands on his feet and hits Lethal with two knee strikes, and Guevara finishes it by hitting Lethal with the GTH. After the match, The Inner Circle comes down to the ring to celebrate with Sammy Guevara. Sammy Guevara gets up on his feet and shakes the hand of Jay Lethal. The Inner Circle then raises the hands of both Guevara and Lethal as the show goes off the air.

Winner: Sammy Guevara
