AEW Dynamite & NXT Suffer Big Viewership Drops For October 30 Going Up Against World Series



Both AEW and NXT had their lowest-ever viewership thanks to Game 7 of the 2019 MLB World Series.

According to Showbuzz Daily, the October 30 episode of AEW Dynamite averaged 759,000 viewers and a 0.33 rating in the 18-49 demographic, good for sixth on cable for the day. This is down from the the October 23 episode of AEW Dynamite which averaged 963,000 viewers and a 0.45 rating.

AEW saw the crowning of the first-ever AEW World Tag Team Champions as SCU defeated Lucha Bros in the tournament finals. The show also saw the official contract signing between AEW World Champion Chris Jericho and Cody Rhodes for their title match at the Full Gear pay-per-view on November 9.

As for NXT, the show drew 580,000 viewers and a 0.18 rating in the 18-49 viewership, which is good for 32nd best on cable for the day. This is also down from the October 23 episode that drew 698,000 viewers and a 0.21 rating.

NXT featured WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions The Kabuki Warriors retain their titles against Dakota Kai and Tegan Nox. After the match, a brawl ensued that forced NXT General Manager William Regal to announce that Rhea Ripley and NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler will captain their respective teams for the first-ever all-women’s WarGames match in company history.

The seventh and final game of the World Series, which saw the Washington Nationals defeat the Houston Astros, drew more than 23 million viewers on FOX.
