It’s Wednesday, December 28, 2022, and you know what that means!
On the final Wednesday of 2022, AEW plans on closing out the year with a smash, a New Year’s Smash.
Tonight, All Elite Wrestling presents the final AEW Dynamite of 2022. Bryan Danielson, Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, and more will be in action. Samoa Joe will also defend his TNT Championship and we will get the penultimate, and potentially final, match in the series between Death Triangle and The Elite.
Here’s everything you need to know about tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite on TBS.
The Best Of Seven Continues
Tonight, following a very intense No Disqualification Match and subsequent beatdown for Kenny Omega, Matt Jackson, and Nick Jackson,The Elite and Death Triangle once again meet, but this time, it is under Falls Count Anywhere rules. Should Death Triangle be victorious, the series will be over, and they will be declared the Undisputed AEW World Trios Champions. However, should Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks, come away with another win tonight, they will move onto the seventh and final match, which will be a Ladder Match on Wednesday, January 11. No matter what, The Elite has their backs up against the wall for the rest of this series.
Ethan Page Takes On Bryan Danielson
Tonight, Ethan Page will take on the person that Stokely Hathaway has dubbed “a raggedy bitch” Bryan Danielson. Danielson currently has his sights set on MJF and making sure that Maxwell Jacob Friedman, for all of his bravado, understands that there are consequences for his actions. Page, on the other hand, is determined to put himself in the world championship picture and there is no love lost between him and the current AEW World Champion either.
Ruby Soho & Willow Nightingale Look To Take Out The Women Of The Jericho Appreciation Society
Ruby Soho recently gained a measure of revenge against Tay Melo. However, moments after Soho’s victory at AEW Winter is Coming, Anna Jay A.S. was there to do further damage to Soho. Now, Ruby has enlisted the help of Willow Nightingale, and tonight, they look to gain a measure of revenge while also moving forward in the women’s division.
The Blackpool Combat Club vs. Top Flight
After utilizing the distraction provided by Hangman Page, Top Flight’s Darius and Dante Martin were able to eliminate Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli of the Blackpool Combat Club in order to win the $300,000 Three Kings Frios Casino Christmas Battle Royale on AEW Rampage back on December 23. Tonight, Moxley and Castagnoli will compete in standard tag team action against Dante and Darius Martin as they look to continue to prove their dominance over all of wrestling. However, one has to assume that Hangman Page will be watching and might even feel the urge to make his presence felt once more.
Samoa Joe Defends Against Wardlow
Tonight, Samoa Joe will once again defend his AEW TNT Championship against Wardlow. Samoa Joe has repeatedly called himself “King of Television” and Wardlow is hoping to torch Joe’s throne. Unlike many of Wardlow’s opponents in the past, Joe is not one to back down and will be bringing the fight to the war machine. Tonight, AEW fans will learn who will represent the TNT Championship heading into the new year.
That is everything announced for tonight. Elsewhere, Jade Cargill is still looking for someone to step up and challenge her for the TBS Championship. Chris Jericho and Ricky Starks will be getting ready for their first time ever match next week, and all of the stars in AEW are looking forward to sending a message heading into the new year.
