AEW Dynamite Beats NXT In Viewership For Second Straight Week

AEW beats NXT in terms of viewership for the second straight week.

According to Showbuzz Daily, the October 9 episode of AEW Dynamite on TNT averaged 1.018 million viewers and drew a 0.46 rating in the 18-49 demographic, good for eighth-best on cable for the day. NXT on the USA Network only drew 790,000 viewers and a 0.22 rating in the 18-49 demographic, which was 27th best on cable for the day.

On October 2, NXT, which had its first two-hour show exclusively televised on USA Network averaged 891,000 viewers which was the first time the show did under a million viewers ever since it moved to USA Network in mid-September. The October 9 episode of NXT saw a new Cruiserweight Champion be crowned as Lio Rush defeated Drew Gulak, a very phallic promo from Velveteen Dream towards North American champion Roderick Strong and was headlined by WALTER vs. KUSHIDA.

AEW Dynamite’s debut episode on TNT on October 2 averaged 1.409 millions and finished No. 2 in ratings within the 18-49 demographic, more than doubling NXT’s ratings in that demographic. The October 9 episode of AEW Dynamite saw Private Party defeat The Young Bucks to advance in the AEW World Tag Team Championship Tournament as well as Chris Jericho officially naming his stable, “The Inner Circle.”
