AEW Dynamite And NXT 10/7 Viewership, Ratings Down Going Up Against VP Debate


Viewership and ratings for this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite and NXT were down going up against the U.S. Vice Presidential debate.

According to Showbuzz Daily, the October 7 episode of Dynamite drew 753,000 viewers, which is down from the 866,000 viewers the September 30 episode drew. As for NXT, the show drew 639,000 viewers, which is down from the 732,000 viewers the September 30 episode drew.

In the 18-49 demographic, the October 7 episode of Dynamite drew a 0.31 rating, good for 19th-best on cable for the day and down from the 0.33 rating the September 30 episode drew. On the other hand, NXT drew a 0.16 rating, good for 59th best on cable and down from the 0.19 rating the September 30 episode drew.

The second hour of both shows were up against the U.S. Vice Presidential debate, which drew 7.705 million viewers on CNN, 11.898 million viewers on FOX News and 6.918 million viewers on MSNBC.

AEW Dynamite was the 30-year celebration of Chris Jericho’s wrestling career with cameos from the likes of Shaquille O’Neal, Hiroshi Tanahashi and Slash. The show also saw Cody defeat Brodie Lee to become the new TNT Champion.

NXT this week saw the fallout of TakeOver 31 that took place the weekend prior. Ember Moon had her first match on the black and gold brand in years, teaming up with Rhea Ripley to defeat the team of Dakota Kai & Raquel Gonzalez in the main event.
