AEW Dynamite (9/7) Preview: Dynamite Hits Buffalo For The First-Time Ever As MJF Returns Amid Chaos

It’s Wednesday, and you know what that means!

Fresh off of a game-changing All Out event in Chicago, Illinois, All Elite Wrestling is set to debut in Buffalo, New York for what is sure to be a memorable episode of the Wednesday night flagship series. With a Ring of Honor Pure Championship match, the first appearance of Maxwell Jacob Friedman on Dynamite in several months, and more, Dynamite looks to do its best to live up to its name on September 7.

Here’s everything you need to know before tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite on TBS!

MJF Returns And There’s No Sympathy For This Devil

Maxwell Jacob Friedman returned at AEW All Out in very unique fashion. After disappearing for several months following a profanity-laced tirade in June where he openly implored Tony Khan to fire him, MJF revealed himself to be the Joker in the Casino Ladder Match. However, while he did confront CM Punk and make it clear that he wants to be World Heavyweight Champion, he certainly did not capture the World Title opportunity on his own.

Tonight, Maxwell Jacob Friedman will address the fans. How much will he share about his relationship with Stokely Hathaway and the individuals that Stokely has been recruiting, potentially on his behalf, in the months following his departure? Also, will he reveal when he plans on challenging for the World Championship?

We hope to have more answers tonight. One thing is for sure, when Maxwell Jacob Friedman has a microphone in his hand, people listen.

Daniel Garcia Gets Another Opportunity At The Pure Championship

Daniel Garcia gets one more shot at the Pure Championship currently owned by Wheeler Yuta on tonight’s episode of Dynamite. Recently, Garcia has been conflicted regarding his relationship with Chris Jericho. Garcia is still loyal to Chris Jericho but he’s been trying to prove to Chris Jericho that he doesn’t need to cheat in order to win. After Garcia refused to celebrate with Chris Jericho following Jericho’s victory over Bryan Danielson at AEW All Out, Jericho informed Garcia that he would have to win this match against Yuta without Chris Jericho in his corner.

However, Garcia may not need Chris Jericho tonight.

Garcia will be in his hometown of Buffalo and he knows that he is in for the biggest match of his career and potentially his first major title victory. Can Garcia prove that he is the superior wrestler and sports entertainer, and what will Chris Jericho do if he doesn’t?

We will find out tonight.

Death Triangle vs. Best Friends

Orange Cassidy and PAC have history with each other dating back to the early days of AEW. Tonight, a Trios Match will be the next stage of their rivalry. Cassidy has made it clear that he wants to be All-Atlantic Champion but PAC has made it clear that Cassidy does not deserve an opportunity. Also, with the new World Trios Tag Team Championships, both Death Triangle and the Best Friends want to prove that there could be plenty of gold in their respective futures.

Currently, that is all that is announced for tonight’s card. However, this is a turbulent time for AEW. Not only is CM Punk the new World Champion but following his victory, he aired his grievances with Colt Cabana, Hangman Page, The Young Bucks, and Kenny Omega during the post-show media scrum.

Following his comments, reports emerged of a locker room confrontation involving CM Punk, Ace Steel, and the triumvirate of AEW EVPs. Currently, none of these men are booked for the show. it remains to be seen how the situation will progress and what will become of four of the top champions in AEW.

In addition to all of that, Jade Cargill is still TBS Champion, defeating Athena for her 37th victory at All Out. FTR, Wardlow, Claudio Castagnoli, and the returning Samoa Joe, will all be bringing gold of their own into tonight’s show as well. Another name bringing gold to Buffalo is Toni Storm, the new interim Women’s World Champion.

With all of these factors going into tonight’s event, it is shaping up to be a major one in AEW’s history.

Here is the current lineup for AEW Dynamite on September 7:

– ROH Pure Championship: Wheeler Yuta (c) vs. Daniel Garcia

– Death Triangle (PAC, Penta El Zero Miedo, & Rey Fenix) vs. Best Friends (Orange Cassidy, Trent, & Chuckie T)
