AEW World Championship Eliminator Match: MJF vs. Adam Cole

MJF and Cole engage in a face-to-face match, initially even. Cole gains the upper hand, and MJF leaves the ring. Cole takes the fight to MJF, and the match spills outside. MJF gains the upper hand, stomps on Cole’s hand, grounds Cole, and Cole rallies. MJF slams Cole for a two-count, and Cole nails him with a Superkick, causing MJF to bleed from the mouth. Cole receives a two-count with a Backstabber.

Cole tries a Panama Sunrise but MJF spies it. MJF avoids the Boom as Cole reverses the Heat Seeker. Cole responds with a shoulder breaker, and the battle continues. Cole hits a series of Superkicks, while MJF counters with a massive lariat. They trade submissions before Cole uses an Ankle Lock to bring MJF toward the center of the ring.

Cole approaches the ropes, but the Heat Seeker connects with MJF. MJF positions Cole on the timekeeper’s table and executes an Elbow Drop to the outside. Cole beats the ten count and Suplexes MJF into the ring apron. MJF challenges the official, enabling Cole to go for the roll-up.

When MJF kicks out, he pushes Cole into the official, who falls. He then attempts the Eddie Guerrero maneuver with the World Championship, but the official remains down. This allows Cole to nail MJF with the championship, and he then strikes the Boom, but MJF kicks out. Cole tries the technique again, but MJF falls from exhaustion.

The official’s view is then obscured as MJF strikes with a low blow, allowing him to put on the Dynamite Diamond Ring, but the official prevents him from using it. Cole follows with a Superkick and the Panama Sunrise, followed by another Boom. However, before the official reaches three, the bell rings, indicating the end of the 30-minute time limit.

Result: Time Limit Draw

– After the match, Cole gets the microphone and demands five more minutes, but MJF declines.

– A video package promotes the return of CM Punk at AEW Collision. Punk claims that the one certainty with CM Punk is that nothing is certain. He claims to have unfinished business and scores to settle. Punk claims he won’t know what to do or say until he gets the microphone, but he has much to say.

Jericho tells Guevara that he made him famous. He claims that if Sammy had asked for help, he would be the champion. Guevara wonders why Jericho didn’t contact him since if he had, he would have beaten Adam Cole instead of losing to him twice.

– Sammy refuses to apologize after Jericho orders him to. Jericho gets in his face and reminds him to remember the Jericho Appreciation Society’s hierarchy. According to Allin, Jericho can call himself a wizard, but magic fades as he enters the ring. Jericho gets in Allin’s face and threatens to beat him up with Sammy. Sting appears.
