AEW Dynamite (5/18) Preview: Joker’s Wild In The Owen, CM Punk, MJF, And More In Attendance

It’s Wednesday and you know what that means!

All Elite Wrestling is back with another night of action and tonight, much of the focus is on the Owen Hart Foundation Memorial Cup Tournament and the two Jokers that will be making their presence felt tonight. In addition to that, CM Punk will be on commentary, William Regal comes face-to-face with an old rival, and much more. Here’s everything you need to know before tonight’s episode of Dynamite airs on TBS.

The Owen Hart Foundation Memorial Cup Tournament Continues

It’s Wild Card Wednesday as four matches in the Owen Hart Foundation Memorial Cup Tournament will take place tonight. In one of the matches for the men, Kyle O’Reilly will take on Rey Fenix while both choose to primarily compete in tag team matches, there are no stranger to singles matches and singles opportunities and they will both look to advance while potentially hurting the other on the way to the finish. In a dream match, Adam Cole will take on Jeff Hardy. Both men have Charisma in spades but who will have the extra grit to be able to pull out a victory tonight.

Most eyes tonight are focused on the matches in the tournament that will include Jokers. Samoa Joe will take on an opponent yet to be revealed but he does know it will not be Satnam Singh, Sonjay Dutt, or Jay Lethal. That does not mean he won’t be on the lookout for them. in the other match involving a joker, Britt Baker looks to become the first woman to win and Owen Hart Memorial Cup Tournament and add to her Legacy in AEW. With so many free agents in the world of wrestling and names that can easily make their return to the promotion, the wrestling world will be watching to see who steps through the door next.

CM Punk Watches Hangman In Action

Tonight, Adam Page will take on Konosuke Takeshita with CM Punk on commentary. The situation between Punk and Hangman is getting more volatile by the week, but with only two more episodes of Dynamite to go before their world championship confrontation at Double or Nothing, the words and potential blows are not likely to soften now.

Master Regal Comes Face-To-Face With A Wizard

William Regal, after getting physical last week was Chris Jericho, will now have a face-to-face confrontation with his former rival. It seems as though the seeds of war were planted last week between the Jericho Appreciation Society and the group comprised of the Blackpool Combat Club, Eddie Kingston, Santana, and Ortiz. William Regal certainly knows how to set the stage for war, should that be the logical outcome here.

Wardlow Faces 10 Lashes

Tonight, Wardlow has to take 10 lashes at the hands of Maxwell Jacob Friedman. this is the first step in Wardlow getting what he wants, a match against Maxwell Jacob Friedman at Double or Nothing. After this, it will be a Cage Match against Shawn Spears next week but then, Wardlow has his opportunity to be a free man.

That is just everything that is announced for tonight. Jade Cargill, Jurassic Express, HOOK, and more are certain to be around and want their presence to be felt.
