AEW Dynamite (2/16) Preview: The Revolution Marches On

It’s Wednesday night and you know what that means.

AEW Dynamite rolls through Nashville, Tennessee as the revolution Marches On despite the news that Cody Rhodes, one of the founders of AEW, will no longer be with the company.

Here is everything you need to look forward to tonight on Dynamite.

CM Punk Has MJF In The Palm Of His Hands

After successfully defeating FTR alongside Jon Moxley, CM Punk will name the time, the place, and the rules for his rematch with Maxwell Jacob Friedman.

CM Punk, with Decades of experience under his belt, has been in similar positions at several points in his career and has been waiting for the opportunity to dictate when and where Maxwell Jacob Friedman could face him one-on-one, so what the former WWE Champion has to say tonight will likely be instrumental to AEW programming and going forward.

Darby Allin Wants His Belt Back

Darby Allin was one of the first three people to hold the AEW TNT Championship, the other two being Cody Rhodes and Brodie Lee. Sammy Guevara, the current Undisputed AEW TNT Champion, is scheduled to face Darby for the title tonight as both look to establish themselves as the pillar of the future.

However, with Andrade also promising to be the next TNT Champion and wanting Darby to work for him and the impending implosion of the Inner Circle likely weighing heavily on the mind of Sammy, both men may not be mentally 100% invested in the match as they enter Nashville tonight.

Inner Circle Explodes

The rest of the members of the Inner Circle will be facing one another tonight as Santana and Ortiz have had enough of Chris Jericho. Jericho, with Jake Hager by his side, looks to right the ship and get his soldiers back in line. It may, however, be too late as Santana and Ortiz are more invested in their future as a team than they are in the Inner Circle’s as a unit.

Dragon vs. TAIGA

Lee Moriarty has the chance of a lifetime as he will step into the ring with another former WWE Champion, Bryan Danielson. Danielson, still awaiting Jon Moxley’s answer as to whether or not he will join him or not. Danielson, who named Lee Moriarty as somebody he wants to work alongside, looks at the TAIGASTYLE specialist and sees great potential and someone he wants to take under his wing. Moriarty, on the other hand, wants to show Bryan Danielson just how violent he can be tonight in Nashville.

Thunder Rosa and Mercedes Martinez Get Violent

Thunder Rosa, who is ready for a championship match with Britt Baker, wants to put her issue with Mercedes Martinez in the past. Martinez, we now know, is the hired gun of Britt Baker, and tonight, she will look to finish the job and take out Thunder Rosa in a no disqualification match.

Rosa has never been one to back down from a challenge and has a successful past in these types of matchups and she is looking to take the next step toward a title match.

Another Name Wants To Step Up And Be The Face Of The Revolution.

Wardlow and Max Caster look to punch their ticket to Revolution tonight in singles action. Wardlow, whether he likes it or not, already knows that if he wins this match and the ladder match on March 6, he will have to win the TNT championship and hand it over to Maxwell Jacob Friedman as per his contract.

Who will qualify for the ladder match? We will find out tonight.

That’s just everything that is announced for tonight’s event and doesn’t even take into account the news about Cody Rhodes that was learned on Tuesday, February 15. Dynamite is sure to be newsworthy tonight.
