AEW Dynamite (11/23) Preview: The Fallout From Full Gear
It’s Wednesday, November 23, 2022, and you know what that means!
It’s time to break down tonight’s AEW Dynamite on TBS. Just four days removed from AEW Full Gear and the landscape of AEW has completely changed. Maxwell Jacob Friedman, thanks to help from William Regal, is now the AEW World Champion. The Elite have returned and are now involved in what may be a grueling series of matches with Death Triangle. Tonight, AEW fans will feel the fallout of all of that and more.
Here’s everything you need to know about tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite on TBS.
William Regal Addresses His Decision To Betray Jon Moxley
William Regal is, and always has been, a villain. This past Saturday, he showed his true colors when he betrayed Jon Moxley to help Maxwell Jacob Friedman win the World Championship. Since then, fans have wanted to know why he chose to do this. Tonight, William Regal will address his actions and even though he’s not advertised, the new world champion, MJF is sure to make his presence felt throughout the evening.
What does this mean for AEW? Where does the Blackpool Combat Club go from here? Perhaps tonight we will find out some of these answers.
MJF’s First Challenger Will Be Determined
In a match between Ethan Page and Ricky Starks, MJF’s first World Championship challenger will be determined. Ricky Starks is definitely the sympathetic babyface whom fans are clamoring to see compete for the title meanwhile, Ethan Page and The Firm have yet to address their own status as it relates to MJF being a villain all along. Fans may not find out if they were in on the plan all along tonight but fans will find out who will challenge MJF as the World Championship Eliminator Tournament comes to a close.
The Elite Are Back!
Kenny Omega, Matt Jackson, and Nick Jackson have returned after a lengthy suspension and they are now embroiled in a Best of Seven Series with Death Triangle. Death Triangle is already up 1 match in the series because of their tainted victory at AEW Full Gear. That aside, AEW’s “Wayward Sons” look to carry on and eventually recover the AEW Trios Championships at the end of this series.
The Wizard vs. The Pitbull
Tonight, Chris Jericho will defend the Ring of Honor World Championship against Tomohiro Ishii. Jericho says he and Ishii go way back as Ishii was his young boy in WAR, a now-defunct Japanese wrestling promotion. Chris Jericho will look to continue his dominance as ROH Champion but Ishii is a hardened man, no longer a young boy and he looks to show Chris Jericho how much has changed.
Orange Cassidy vs. Jake Hager
Jake Hager loves his hat and the only thing that he would love more is championship gold. Orange Cassidy also loves Jake Hager’s hat and is giving him an All-Atlantic Championship opportunity because… whatever. Tonight, Jake looks to win his first piece of gold in AEW.
Jade Cargill Confronts Bow Wow
After weeks of banter on social media, Jade Cargill confronted Bow Wow in Miami. Tonight, we will see the full footage on Dynamite. Jade looks to continue to prove why she is “That Bitch” no matter what arena she steps into but Bow Wow has previously flirted with the idea of being involved in the wrestling industry and this may be his foot in the door. If Jade has her way, it will be her foot up his ass.
