AEW Dynamite 2/17/20 Results: AEW Tag Team Championship Young Bucks vs. Santana and Ortiz plus more

Jim Ross kicks off the broadcast saying, “It’s Wednesday Night, and you know what that means.” Ross then welcomes the audience to AEW Dynamite and says that they are coming to us live from Daily’s Place in Jacksonville, Florida. Ross then introduces his fellow announcers Excalibur and Tony Schiavone.
Matt Hardy & Adam “Hangman” Page vs. The Hybrid 2
The match begins right away once Matt Hardy gets in the ring. Adam Page takes control right away by taking out both Jack Evans and Angelico. Page gets a few strikes in and then tags in Hardy. Hardy gets in a few strikes in on Evans, and he tags back in Page. Page gets a few heavy shots in on Evans. Hardy slams Angelico but Evans gets in the ring and kicks Hardy right in the back of the head. Evans and Angelico and double team Hardy and get a bunch of strikes in.
Angelico went for a springboard, but Hardy stops him from tags in Page. Page clears the ring; he gets in the ring and hits a big clothesline in on Evans. He then powerbomb’s both Evans and Angelico. Page was going for the Buckshot Lariat, but Hardy does the blind tag, and Hardy is the legal man. Page is confused by the move, Hardy is then pushed into Page, and he falls off the apron. Page gets back in the ring and hits a Double Buckshot Lariat. Hardy takes advantage and then hits the Twist of Fate. Hardy then pins Angelico to get the victory.
After the match, Hardy talks about how he is going to make a ton of money. Page then mentions that Hardy should look at the contract, and the contract was for a match at Revolution. Hardy vs. Page is set for the next PPV. Hardy tells Page he will regret it, and then the Jacksonville Jaguars mascot Duval attacks Page. The person in the suit was Isiah Kassidy of Private Party. Hardy then yells at The Hybrid 2 and says if they want to make some money, they need to get in and attack Page. The Dark Order comes out and makes the save for Page and clears the ring.
Winners: Adam “Hangman” Page & Matt Hardy
They now go to the back for a segment with The Inner Circle. Ortiz and Santana begin by saying how this is their first title match since joining AEW. MJF then talks about Sammy Guevara and that he turned his back on everyone. Chris Jericho then chimes in and says that he no longer wants to talk about Sammy Guevara and he does not want to hear the name again. They then go to a commercial break.
Back from commercials, Tony Schiavone goes over the Women’s World Title Eliminator Tournament’s first four matches. Tony then finishes up by talking about the matches that will be on next Monday’s show.
AEW Women’s World Title Eliminator Tournament Match
Serena Deeb vs. Riho
Serena Deeb and Riho begin the match with a lock-up; they both reverse waist locks. Deeb slams Riho down, but Riho comes right back and has Deeb in a wristlock. Deeb has Riho in a side headlock, Riho has the ability to go for the pin attempt, but Deeb kicks out at two. Deeb hits Riho with some quick takedowns; Riho does a bridge to get out of Deeb’s hold. Deeb starts running the ropes, but Riho hits her with a body press. Deeb gets back up and gets some strikes on Riho. Deeb now has Riho along the ropes and catapults her into the ropes.
They now go to a commercial break with picture-in-picture; during the commercials, Deeb controls the match, but they have a short break so Deeb’s knee can be checked. They are back with Deeb still in control, but soon Riho gets the energy and hits a big snapdragon suplex on Deeb. Deeb gets control of the match again and hits Riho with a dragon screw. Deeb hits Riho with a swinging neckbreaker, Deeb then goes for the pin, but Riho kicks out at the last second. Riho then grabs the leg, and Riho then starts hitting Deeb with some big heavy strikes.
Riho hits Deeb with a 619, follows it up with a diving foot stomp. Riho hits the Northern Lights suplex. Riho goes to the top and lands knees first onto Deeb. Riho and Deeb exchange multiple pin attempts and have numerous near falls. Riho gets the victory when she traps Deeb’s arms down with her feet.
Winner: Riho
The next segment is a video of Shaquille O’ Neal and Jade Cargill training for their match against Cody Rhodes and Red Velvet.
Orange Cassidy (w/ Chuck Taylor) vs. Luther (w/ Serpentico)
The match begins, and Luther goes right after Chuck Taylor and then knocks him off the ring apron. Serpentico then gets in the ring, and he dives onto Chuck Taylor. Luther then hits Cassidy with a big strike. Luther goes to knock Cassidy off the apron, but Cassidy stops him in his tracks, and then he hits the powerbomb on Luther; Luther is now on the ground outside of the ring.
Luther is down, but the referee is out of the ring checking in on him. Meanwhile, Serpentico is lining up as if he will attack Cassidy, but Chuck Taylor comes up behind him and hits him with a powerbomb. Luther is back in the ring, and Cassidy hits the Orange Punch and follows it up by pinning Luther.
Winner: Orange Cassidy (w/ Chuck Taylor)
Team Taz calls out Sting; Sting obliges and comes out. Taz then says Sting is afraid to do anything without his bat. Sting throws his bat down, and then they start fighting. Sting has Cage in the corner; Hook gets in the ring and stops Sting. Cage then picks up and hits a massive powerbomb on Sting.
They now go to a backstage segment with Eddie Kingston; standing right beside Eddie is The Butcher, The Blade, and The Bunny. Kingston says that he asked for this match and says he will stop Moxley tonight. They then go to another commercial.
They come back and go to a promo with Kenny Omega; he talks to a small class of elementary students about The Young Bucks book. Omega tells the kids he has to go, but they can play with Michael Nakazawa. The kids then boo Nakazawa and attack him.
AEW World Tag Team Championship Match
The Young Bucks (c) vs. Santana and Ortiz
Before the match begins, The Young Bucks get in the face of Santana and Ortiz. Nick Jackson and Santana begin the match, and both men end up doing multiple reverses, and nobody gets the upper hand until Matt Jackson is tagged in. Jackson hits multiple hip tosses on both Santana and Ortiz and The Young Bucks double team. They go backstage and show Kenny Omega, Don Callis, and The Good Brothers watching the match from the back. Santana and Ortiz hit a massive backbreaker on Nick Jackson, meanwhile, MJF gets caught by the Referee Rick Knox trying to interfere, and Knox orders The Inner Circle to leave the ring and go backstage.
They go to a commercial break with Santana and Ortiz in control, they come back, and they are still in control until Nick Jackson hits a big Superkick on Santana. Nick tags in Matt, and Matt clears the ring. Matt hits a twisting stunner on Santana, Matt goes for the pin but Santana, but he kicks out. The Young Bucks then hit a powerbomb on Santana, Santana hits the Avalanche Back Arrow on Nick. He goes for the pin, but Nick kicks out. Ortiz has Nick in a submission hold, but Matt makes the save by coming in with a massive elbow drop. Santana and Ortiz are going for a suplex, but Matt breaks it up, and they hit the Doomsday Device.
The Young Bucks hit Santana with a Double Superkick, but Ortiz saves when they go for the pin. They go for the BTE Trigger, but Santana moves out of the way; Santana and Ortiz hit the Street Sweeper. They go for the pin, but Matt Jackson makes the save at the last second. Santana and Ortiz powerbomb Matt Jackson to the outside of the ring. Santana gets back in the ring, and Matt pins Santana with an inside cradle.
Winners: The Young Bucks
The match ends, and immediately The Inner Circle members are attacking The Young Bucks; the cameras show Kenny Omega, The Good Brothers, and Don Callis watching. Kenny wants to go out, but Callis holds him back; Callis then whispers something to Karl Anderson.
Anderson and Doc Gallows go out to the ring, and The Inner Circle leaves the ring. Jericho is outside of the ring, and he gets in the face of Papa Buck (Nick and Matt’s Dad). Papa Buck then pushes Jericho, Jericho, and MJF starts yelling at him and tells him he messed up.
They go to a commercial and come back, and Brandi Rhodes comes on the screen and says that they will be doing a gender reveal of their baby. They will be having a baby girl.
FTR vs. Matt & Mike Sydal
The match begins with Mike Sydal and Dax Harwood, Dax gets some big strikes in on Mike Sydal, and FTR has the upper hand. They don’t have it for long because Mike makes the tag to Matt Sydal and Harwood tags in Cash Wheeler. Wheeler and Matt exchange some heavy and fast strikes. They are really laying it in, but Harwood is tagged in, and he takes control of the match. He brings down Sydal with a clothesline and then brings him down with a headlock. They take a commercial break and come back, and FTR is in control until Matt Sydal starts getting some heavy knee strikes in on both Wheeler and Harwood. Mike Sydal does a huge dive to the outside and lays out his opponents. Matt Sydal is in control; however, Matt gets nailed with a full nelson suplex. FTR goes for the pin, but Mike Sydal makes the save; Mike Sydal goes for a moonsault and hits it but not all of it. FTR hits The Big Rig to get the pin and then the win. After the match, the lights go out, and it is a picture of Luchasaurus’s mask. The lights come back on, and Jurassic Express is in the ring, and they attack FTR. Luchasaurus and Jungle Boy hit their finishers on FTR.
Winners: FTR
The announcers are now going over next week’s matches, and they also bring up some of the matches announced for the AEW Revolution.
Jon Moxley cuts a promo about his upcoming match tonight and brings up his match against Kenta for the IWGP United States title on February 26th. Moxley finishes by saying after he is done with Kenta, he is going after everyone and says he will get back his AEW Heavyweight title from Kenny Omega.
Eddie Kingston, The Butcher & The Blade (w/ The Bunny) vs. Jon Moxley, Rey Fenix, & Lance Archer (w/ Jake “The Snake” Roberts)
All six competitors are in the ring, and they start attacking each other. Kingston’s team takes control of the match when it finally starts. They are laying it in on Jon Moxley and getting multiple double team attacks in on him. Moxley is finally able to make a tag, and Lance Archer is in. Archer comes in and destroys everyone with the hot tag; however, it does not last long. Kingston and The Blade begin double-teaming Archer, and they lay in some heavy strikes. Archer makes a comeback and hits a double clothesline on Kingston and The Blade.
Archer makes the hot tag to Rey Fenix, and he cleans the house; he is taking everyone out. He dives outside of the ring and hits The Butcher. He then hits The Blade with a big kick, Fenix gets back into the ring, and Kingston lays out Fenix with a big clothesline. Archer and Fenix look at each other, and they give each other a head nod, and Archer throws Fenix right at The Butcher and The Blade outside of the ring.
Fenix tags in Moxley and The Butcher tags in Eddie Kingston. Kingston and Moxley finally the legal men in the ring, and they are throwing heavy strikes at each other. Moxley has Kingston in the Bulldog Chokehold; soon, however, The Blade breaks it up. Archer and Fenix clear out the ring again, Kingston is back up, and he hits Moxley with a spinning back fist and knocks Moxley down for just a few seconds, and he gets back up; he hits Kingston with the Paradigm Shift. Moxley then pins Kingston to get the victory.
Winners: Jon Moxley, Rey Fenix, and Lance Archer (w/ Jake “The Snake” Roberts)
The match has ended, and Moxley is celebrating on the top turnbuckle and suddenly attacked by The Good Brothers. They beat him down and then hold him up for Kenny Omega. Omega hits Moxley with two V-Triggers. He then tells Moxley that he knows he invoked his rematch clause, and Tony Khan set the match up. He then tells Moxley that he will pick the stipulation, and he says they will have an Exploding Barbed Wire Death Match at AEW Revolution. The show then ends.
