AEW And Tony Khan Got Martha Hart’s Blessing For Sting’s Rafter Entrance
Sting descended from the rafters for the final (likely) time at his last AEW Dynamite.
The drop from the ceiling was the first Sting had done a rafter drop since his 2007 entrance at TNA Slammiversary. Outside of that, he’d not done one since 2000 in WCW, and had used the entrance sparingly since the unfortunate passing of Owen Hart in May 1999.
Sting utilizing the entrance led to some reference the dangers associated with the entrance and perceived insensitivities. However, we’re told that AEW and Tony Khan actually called Martha Hart in preparing for the spot to confer with her. Martha ended up giving her blessing, which is why the entrance happened.
