Adam Priest Discusses AEW Dark Experiences During The Pandemic, Says AEW Took Care Of Indie Talent
Adam Priest reflects on his AEW experiences.
The pandemic his many wrestlers and wrestling promotions hard, but AEW did the best they could to give people work as they mass taped matches for AEW Dark at Daily’s Place in Jacksonville, FL.
Adam Priest worked over a dozen matches during the pandemic, taking on the likes of Best Friends (Chuck Taylor & Trent Beretta), Gunn Club (Austin Gunn & Colten Gunn), Alan Angels, and more.
Speaking to Jeremy Lambert & Stephen Jensen on The Spotlight, Priest reflected on wrestling for AEW during the pandemic.
“For a time period, I was working out at the Nightmare Factory before it is what it is now. They would ask me to come work out, I don’t know anybody’s money agreements or anything, but I was there for a while and I would say the person who spent the most time helping me and critiquing was QT. There was a lot of cooks in the kitchen training and helping. I was just there a few weeks, but something personal made me come home and I couldn’t spend two or three days a week there. I spent a lot of time there and got to know Shawn Dean,” he said.
Priest continued, “I got my foot in the door there, QT asked me to come through Dark and it was different then. It’s not like it was. I was there and getting a lot of matches. It was during the pandemic and they needed a lot of guys for what they were doing. They treated Indie guys well. Say what you want about whatever, they paid a lot of guys and helped a lot of guys that weren’t working. A lot guys didn’t do anything but that for two years. They did a lot for indie guys and helped out. I enjoyed my time there, but I didn’t want to be the guy hanging around. I still had some growing to do. I had some bookings there and went on about my business.”
Elsewhere during the interview, Priest revealed that he would be returning soon to ROH. You can find his full comments by clicking here.
