Adam Pearce Makes Last-Ditch Plea To Roman Reigns To End The Games And Call Off Royal Rumble Match

Adam Pearce makes one last-ditch effort to appeal to Roman Reigns’ humanity.

As it stands right now, Adam Pearce is slated to have his first WWE pay-per-view match in the SmackDown main event of the 2021 Royal Rumble pay-per-view when he faces Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship.

Adam Pearce is an on-screen WWE official and a backstage producer, he was given the title match by Roman Reigns when Roman and Jey Uso assaulted Shinsuke Nakamura during a gauntlet match to determine the new number one contender and then placed Pearce on top of Nakamura and forced the referee to count to three.

Pearce has been very vocal on WWE television in saying that he has no desire to wrestle Roman Reigns, not because he is afraid but he feels that his day in the sun has passed and he is comfortable where he is in his career today.

In an effort to make one final appeal to the humanity and common sense of Roman Reigns, Adam Pearce posted a video to Twitter asking “The Tribal Chief” to call off this “charade” if for no other reason than to preserve the Integrity of the Universal Championship and Roman Reigns’ personal legacy.

“Roman, this is not the way I was hoping to appeal to you. But considering I can’t get anybody to return my calls this week and tomorrow’s Friday, this is kind of a last-ditch. You know that I think all of this is ridiculous. What happened last week, everything that was said, putting me in a match against you at the Rumble, I’m not entirely sure how all of this came to be, but here we are. Here we are once again with me asking you, please, to end this game, end the charade. This is not about me not wanting to face you in a match. It’s about the fact that match does nothing for you, does nothing for the universal title, and in reality, does nothing for me. I had my day in the sun, and that’s great. I am completely 100 percent focused on the job that I have today and I’m very proud of that job. Part of that job is making tough decisions, Roman, and I’ve never been afraid, Roman, to get my hands dirty.”

Adam continued, “I’m not backing down, I’m asking, reconsider this. Don’t think about me, think about you, and more importantly, think about your legacy. I’m not worried about you hurting me. I’m worried that every minute that this charade goes on. You continue to put a stain on and hurt your legacy.

“You’re the locker room leader, you’re the self-proclaimed head of the table, and I believe that you’re the example I’ve pointed every one of our superstars to. Be that Roman Reigns, because the one I looked at last Friday and I’m sure the one I’m going to see tomorrow, is not the same man I’ve always admired. Please. Think about it, Roman. Think about it.”

Right now, Adam and Roman are set to meet face-to-face on the January 15 episode of Friday Night SmackDown and Jey Uso is scheduled to face Nakamura, the man he helped cost a potential Universal Championship opportunity.
