Adam Cole Reflects On His NXT Debut At TakeOver: Brooklyn III, Reveals How Supportive Kevin Owens Has Always Been Of Him, More

Adam Cole looks to continue making his mark in NXT.

Last year, at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn III, the man known as Adam Cole would make his debut with his faction-mates Bobby Fish and Kyle O'Reilly. Since Cole's debut, he has been a part of every NXT TakeOver event and has increased his popularity more, prior to coming into the WWE. While speaking with MLive ahead of NXT's live event shows this weekend in the Midwest, "The Panama City Playboy" reflected on his NXT debut, which is nearing its one-year anniversary.

"I always think back to that first night in Brooklyn, where I debuted and it was this total surprise," he said, "I just remember thinking: 'I hope they care, I hope they remember me. The way they embraced me that night, I knew it was the start of something special."

The former 3-time ROH World Champion is now banded together with Fish and O'Reilly, and they are known as the Undisputed Era. Adam Cole feels as if WWE knew of their popularity and realized that they could make the trio even bigger stars by giving them a larger stage to showcase their skills on.

"It's crazy, WWE very much controls trends in the industry and I think they realized these guys have made a name for themselves across the country and the world and they thought: 'We can do something bigger with them. I look around and see guys that I've been on the road and traveled the world with in a WWE locker room and we still think it's surreal.  At least once a week, one of us will look at the other and just say: 'Can you believe we're really all here?'"

Throughout his 10 years in the business, Cole has made many connections to wrestlers in and outside of the WWE. One of those connections happen to be with former NXT Champion, Kevin Owens, who Cole has wrestled numerous times outside of the WWE. Owens was in the front row the night of Adam Cole's debut, and Cole reflected on that, revealing how supportive K.O. has always been of him.

"Kevin has always gone above and beyond in being supportive of me in my journey," he said. "To have him there to support me was awesome. Talk about another friendship that will never go away."
