Adam Cole Issues Apology For Pat McAfee Incident

Adam Cole regrets what happened with Pat McAfee.

On July 23, Cole was a guest on the Pat McAfee show when things got heated between the two men. The former NXT Champion and former NFL punter took verbal jabs at each other, trying to discredit the respective career of the other man. Cole finally snapped when called short, getting out of his chair to confront McAfee, drop a couple of F-bombs, and shove McAfee’s co-host.

You can view the incident in the video below.

After having the weekend to reflect, Cole issued the following apology on social media, but didn’t mention McAfee by name.

I’ve had the weekend to think about everything, and it’s still hard to put into words where to begin. First of all, to anyone that I offended, I apologize. I apologized because I represent a brand that commands respect. Not just because of what we do in the ring, but how we handle ourselves outside the ring. Even though he continued to push my buttons, I still should have kept my composure and acted like a professional. I’m embarrassed by my reaction, and I will make sure something like that never happens again. Thanks for the continued support everyone.

The beef between Cole and McAfee dates back to 2018 when McAfee interfered during Cole’s match against Aleister Black at a NXT live event. Since then, the two men have traded shots on social media and on WWE digital platforms.
