AAA’s La Parka Passes Away, Lucha Libre AAA Posts Statement
Lucha Libre AAA star La Parka has passed away at the age of 56.
La Parka was seriously injured during a four-way match against RUSH, Murder Clown, and LA Park while wrestling at Kaoz Lucha Libre’s 64 Anniversary Arena Coliseum event in Monterrey on Oct. 20, 2019. The injury occurred when Parka attempted a suicide dive onto Rush, but his feet got caught on the ropes. Parka came up short on the dive, smacking his head on the concrete outside the ring. Rush and ringside officials immediately checked on Parka, who laid on the floor seemingly unconscious. He was taken away on a stretcher as the match continued.
He was diagnosed with a neck and cervical fracture. In the days after the accident, Parka was unable to talk and move his extremities, but would eventually be able to communicate and regain feeling in his arms and legs. AAA reportedly covered his medical expenses.

La Parka should not be confused with LA Park of WCW and MLW fame. Parka owned the name and wrestled for Lucha Libre AAA, The Crash, Toryumon Mexico and other promotions.
Fightful would like to send our condolences to the family, friends, and fans of La Parka.
