9/4 WWE SmackDown Viewership Dips Slightly Following WWE Payback
Roman Reigns‘ championship win and new challenger crowned makes for an exciting night despithe a dip in the overnight viewership numbers of Friday Night SmackDown.
According to overnight numbers released by Showbuzz Daily, the September 4 episode of SmackDown averaged 2.065 million viewers, down from the 2.181 million viewers the August 28 episode averaged. This was the first episode of Friday Night SmackDown following Roman Reigns’ turning heel and recapturing the WWE Universal Championship at Payback
In the 18-49 demographic, the show averaged a 0.55 rating, which is down slightly as compared to last week’s rating. Between ABC, CBS, CW, FOX, and NBC, SmackDown garnered the highest rating in the 18-49 demo. The show also drew a 0.7 rating in the 25-54 demographic, which is identical to last week’s rating in that same demo.
Hourly Breakdown:
Hour 1: 2.018 million viewers, 0.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic
Hour 2: 2.113 million viewers, 0.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic
