WWE SmackDown

Kurt Angle introduced WWE signee Gable Steveson, an Olympic gold medalist, to Braun Strowman, who said they could use him on SmackDown once he’s ready. Later in the show, Angle celebrated his birthday backstage and reunited with his “son” Jason Jordan, who gave him a birthday card. In another highlight, Alpha Academy (Chad Gable & Otis) showed up, but they went on the list. The Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins) showed up, and they were allowed in. 

Karrion Kross, alongside Scarlett, confronted Rey Mysterio in the trainer’s room. Kross recalled how Scarlett told him the story of a thoroughbred horse that had to get put down. He told Rey it’s sad when you have to put an animal out of its misery and warned him that time is running out.

The Usos (Jimmy & Jey Uso) defended the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship against Sheamus and Butch of the Brawling Brutes. The two teams went back and forth, and both duos displayed impressive chemistry. Sami Zayn tried to interfere, but Ridge Holland took him out. Solo Sikoa attacked him at ringside, and The Usos scored the win with the 1-D on Butch. Later in the show, The Usos and Sami Zayn celebrated their win while Solo Sikoa didn’t look as enthusiastic. Jey Uso then pulled Zayn aside and encouraged him to trim his hair and beard ahead of Roman Reigns’ return next week because it will be a big night for him.

– Michael Cole announced that Matt Riddle will be out for roughly six weeks after Solo Sikoa attacked him on Monday’s episode of Raw.

– LA Knight came to the ring to demand justice after LA Knight attacked him. He said he struck fear in Bray Wyatt and noted that he has been attacked multiple times now. Knight stated that he knows Wyatt attacked him, and he played footage to prove it. in the clip, Wyatt’s mask appeared in the background.in both attacks. Uncle Howdy interrupted and said Wyatt deserves to be punished. He claimed that the door is closing. Wyatt then said he’d go backstage and do something about it himself. Later in the show, Knight found a shirt with Wyatt’s logo on it. The lights went out, and a masked man was standing by Knight before the show went to commercial break.

– Legado del Fantasma (Cruz Del Toro & Joaquin Wilde) faced the Viking Raiders. Hit Row (Top Dolla & Ashante “Thee” Adonis) interfered by attacking both teams. They left both teams lying to score a measure of revenge.

– In a WWE Digital Exclusive, Shotzi was attacked in the parking lot, seemingly by Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler. During SmackDown, Rousey and Baszler claimed they were innocent. Liv Morgan and Tegan Nox interrupted and stated that the duo have beaten everyone but them, setting up a match later in the show. The two teams eventually clashed, and Raquel Rodriguez tried to make her way to the rind during the match, but officials stopped her. Her presence distracted Rousey, and Nox capitalized with a shining wizard that helped her team clinch the win.

– Ricochet and WWE Intercontinental Champion Gunther came to the ring to sign the contract for their title match. The New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods) interrupted, as they knew that contract signings always end with a fight. They were ready to throw down, and Adam Pearce tried to say the contract signing could be peaceful, but Woods wisely asked if he’d ever watched wrestling before. Gunther turned the focus back to the title match and reminded Ricochet that he has defeated him twice. Still, Ricochet vowed that he wouldn’t give up. Tensions continued to rise, leading to a six-man tag team match.

When the two trios clashed, Ricochet clinched the victory with a Shooting Star Press on Ludwig Kaiser. Gunther stared him down after the match.

– The broadcast team announced that Shotzi suffered a broken hand when she got attacked by Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler.

Another video package hyped up Lacey Evans’ looming return.

– At the end of the show, Angle asked Steveson to stay in the back before he went to the ring. There, Gable and Otis confronted Angle, as they were upset that they didn’t get invited to the party. Gable told Angle to leave the ring and threatened that he could end up with another broken neck. Otis started eating the birthday cake, and Angle called for a milk truck. Steveson and Angle rode to the ring and sprayed the duo with a milk hose.

– In a WWE Digital Exclusive, the New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods) expressed their confidence ahead of their title match at NXT Deadline, where they will challenge Pretty Deadly (Elton Prince & Kit Wilson) for the NXT Tag Team Championship.

AEW Rampage

– Jon Moxley scored a hard-fought win when he faced Konosuke Takeshita. After the match, Hangman Page came to the ring and noted that doctors wouldn’t clear him due to his concussion. He then took the fight to Moxley, and while the Blackpool Combat Club tried to pull Moxley away, the brawl ended with Page getting shoved into the ring post. He had to be helped up, as it was clear that he hasn’t fully recovered yet.

– Orange Cassidy successfully defended the AEW All-Atlantic Championship against an opponent of Kip Sabian’s choosing, and the mystery man turned out to be former NXT UK star Trent Seven. Cassidy ultimately clinched the victory in a chaotic match; at one point, The Butcher and The Blade came to the ring, but the Best Friends (Trent Beretta and Chuck Taylor) brawled with them. After the bell, Sabian and Seven attacked the champion, but Dustin Rhodes made the save in front of his hometown crowd.

– Hikaru Shida defeated The Bunny to retain the Regina Di WAVE Championship. In doing so, she earned a shot at Jamie Hayter’s AEW Women’s World Championship. After the bell, Hayter came to the stage and stared down Shida.

– W. Morrissey and Lee Moriarty picked up a dominant win over Izzy James & Clayton Bloodstone. 

– A vignette highlighted Powerhouse Hobbs; he discussed the obstacles he has faced and stated that others can’ handle the life he has been forced to live.

– In a promo, Ortiz and Eddie Kingston set their sights on the House of Black (Malakai Black, Brody King & Buddy Matthews).

– In a vignette, Stokely Hathaway stated that HOOK’s win over Lee Moriarty was a travesty due to a false rope break, and he demanded justice.
