WWE shines bright on game day.

This year, there was a huge WWE presence during the Super Bowl in large part due to Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

For starters, The Rock was in a video package during the pre-show before the event where he spotlighted super gold Sunday. For the first time ever, the Winter Olympics are being broadcast on the same day as the Super Bowl.

Then, Dwayne The Rock Johnson, who had a failed career in the CFL, spotlighted in Young Rock which will return on March 15, and is the new owner of the XFL, got to kick off the Super Bowl as only The Most Electrifying Man in all of Entertainment can.

Also, WWE released its Super Bowl ad for the upcoming WrestleMania event in April which also spotlighted Monday Night Raw. Both properties are associated with NBCUniversal, as is the Super Bowl tonight.

Back in 1999, WWE had an ad during the Super Bowl as well as Half-Time heat, an event that featured Dwayne Johnson losing the WWE Championship to Mick Foley.

On the game’s pre-show, Nikki Bella was seen promoting America’s Got Talent Extreme along with Terry Crews. She was sporting WWE-style gear with an America’s Got Talent theme.

Former WWE Champion Batista was also featured in a Nissan commercial that co-starred Eugene Levy. After the game, Los Angeles Rams players were seen celebrating with customized WWE Championships to commemorate the victory.

Tonight, the Super Bowl is being held in So-Fi Stadium. Next year So-Fi Stadium will be the site of WrestleMania 39, Roman Reigns Has said in recent interviews that WrestleMania 39 would be the perfect site for him to face The Rock. Learn more here.
