AEW Championship To Be Defended In A Texas Deathmatch On 2/9 AEW Dynamite
Hangman Page is set to defend the AEW Championship in a Texas Deathmatch.
On January 12, Lance Archer returned to AEW after a prolonged absence due to injury. On that night, he interrupted a heated exchange between Hangman Page and Dan Lambert, attacking the AEW Champion instead of the man he had been feuding with prior to his injury.
Last week, Hangman came to the defense of Frankie Kazarian when Archer continued attacking him after their match. The two men stared each other down before they began exchanging punches.
During Beach Break, it was announced that Hangman would be defending the AEW Championship against Archer on February 9. Not only that, but Archer requested it be a Texas Deathmatch, a stipulation that while it caught Hangman off guard, was quickly accepted.
Page last defended the AEW Title on January 5 against Bryan Danielson.
