Kicking off the September 30 episode of IMPACT Wrestling, Trey Miguel defeated Alex Zayne, and Laredo Kid to qualify for the triple threat match to crown the next X-Division Champion at Bound for Glory 2021.

The reason there is a triple threat taking place is Josh Alexander forfeited his X-Division Championship in order to challenge Christian Cage for the IMPACT Wrestling World Championship at Bound for Glory this year.
Two more triple threat matches will take place over the next several weeks, with the winners facing off in a triple threat match at Bound for Glory to crown a new champion.
