IMPACT Wrestling Results for 8/26/21 Sami Callihan vs Chris Sabin, Bey vs Finlay

Good evening Fight Fans, and welcome to our coverage for tonight’s edition of IMPACT Wrestling on AXS TV!
– We open tonight’s show with a recap of Christian Cage defending his IMPACT World title against Brian Myers at Emergence this past Friday night.
– We open in the IMPACT Zone with our opening match between Chris Sabin and Sami Callihan.
Chris Sabin vs Sami Callihan
Chris attacks Sami when he’s coming into the ring before Sami hits a powerbomb and the two exchange strikes once the match officially starts before Sami hits a DVD and Chris hits a PK from the apron into a cannonball off of the apron. Sami powerbombs Chris into the post before sending Chris into the railing and chops him at ringside before gouging the eyes of Chris and tossing him back inside before kicking Chris’ legs out when he’s on the top rope. Sami stalks Chris and crawls to him before driving his head into his shoulder and locking in a heel hook before Chris gets to the ropes for the break and Sami chops him in the corner before setting him up top and Chris shoves him down before hitting a missile dropkick. Chris hits a Helluva Kick in the corner before hitting a tornado DDT for two before they exchange on their knees up to their feet and exchange headbutts on their feet before Chris superkicks Sami and Sami stomps Chris’ face into the mat. Sami then hits Chris wih a piledriver for a near fall before Chris counters a package piledriver into a clutch for a near fall and Chris hits a shining wizard into a driver for the pin and the win.
Winner: Chris Sabin defeats Sami Callihan via pinfall.
– After the match Moose comes out and dumps Chris out of the ring before spearing Sami and tossing a chair and a baseball into the ring before Eddie comes to the rescue of Sami and sends Moose out of the ring.
– We get a backstage interview with Taylor Wilde ahead of her three on one handicap match later tonight as we go to commercial.
– Backstage Eddie is briefly interviewed about what just happened before Sami shows up and the two argue before Eddie leaves.
– Mickie James comes out to the ring to talk about NWA: Empowerrrr this Saturday night before addressing Deonna Purrazzo putting her Knockouts title on the line against Melina before Deonna and Matthew Rehwoldt come out to the ring and Deonna threatens Mickie before she attacks Mickie and Trey takes out Matt. Melina then shows up and attacks Deonna before Deonna and Matt flee as Trey and Melina check on Mickie.
– We get a video package for Empowerrr and the NWA 73rd anniverary show this weekend on pay-per-view.
– We get a video package where Brian Myers shows Sam Beale how to customize your wrestling gear.
Chris Bey vs David Finlay
David attacks Chris and stomps him in the corner before chopping him and smashes his face into the top turnbuckle before hitting a dropkick and playing to the crowd before Chris rolls out of the ring to regroup as David goes right out after him and tosses him back inside before Chris sends David into the middle rope and drops him with a back elbow. Chris then poses and stomps David as we go to commercial.
We come back from the break to Chris still in control before David comes back with a dropkick and sends Chris out of the ring before hitting a slingshot cross body and slams Chris onto the apron. Back in the ring David hits Chris with an uppercut in the corner before Chris hits an arm drag and several kicks and David hits a choke breaker for a near fall. Chris then pins David out of nowhere with a roll up while using the ropes for leverage for the win.
Winner: Chris Bey defeats David Finlay via pinfall.
– We get a taped promo by Rich Swann and Willie Mack ahead of their tag match against The Good Brothers as we go to commercial.
– We come back from the break as IMPACT World champion Christian Cage comes out to the ring before he’s interrupted by Tommy Dreamer who lobbies for a title match at some point down the line before they’re interrupted by Ace Austin and Madman Fulton. The four then brawl before Tommy and Christian team up and clear the ring as we go to commercial.
Three on One Handicap Match
Taylor Wilde vs Madison Rayne, Tenille Dashwood & Kaleb
Tenille goes right after Kaleb and sends him out of the ring before Tenille and Madison double up on Taylor before Kaleb distracts Taylor when she tried to come back and the three beat down Taylor and choke her in the ropes. Taylor then sends Tenille into Madison before Taylor hits Kaleb with a tornado DDT before Tenille breaks up a near fall and pins Taylor with the Spotlight Kick for the pin and the win.
Winner: Tenille Dashwood, Kaleb, and Madison Rayne defeat Taylor Wilde via pinfall.
– Backstage Brandi Lauren is interviewed before she’s abducted by Su Yung and Kimber Lee as we go to commercial.
The Good Brothers vs Willie Mack & Rich Swann
Karl and Rich kick the match off for their respective teams before Willie and Rich double up on Karl for two before Doc comes in and drops Rich before TGB isolate Willie until he gets the hot tag to Rich. Rich then drops both Karl and Doc before hitting Karl with a rolling splash for two before Karl hits a spine buster for two before Doc takes out Willie and Rich counters a Gun Stun into a roll up for the pin and the win.
Winner: Willie Mack and Rich Swann defeat The Good Brothers via pinfall.
– After the match TGB attack Willie and Rich and bring out a table before Doc powerbombs Willie through a table and TGB leave as we go off the air.
