WWE RAW Results for 5/24/21 WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Match
The WWE Women’s Tag Team titles are on the line tonight at 8pm EST on USA Network!
Good evening Fight Fans, and welcome to our coverage for tonight’s edition of WWE Monday Night RAW!
– We open tonight’s show with MVP in the ring before he introduces WWE champion Bobby Lashley before the champion comes out to the ring and says that he’s finished with Drew McIntyre before addressing how Drew cost Bobby a victory against Kofi Kingston in a non-title match. Drew then interrupts MVP before he gets into the ring with MVP and Bobby before they’re all interrupted by New Day and Adam Pear e makes a match between Kofi and Drew as Bobby and MVP leave as we go to commercial.
Drew McIntyre vs Kofi Kingston (w/ Xavier Woods)
We come back from the break to the match already in progress with Drew using his power to overwhelm Kofi until he counters a delayed suplex and hits a side Russian leg sweep into a rebound splash for two as Bobby and company look on from the stage. Drew then drops Kofi with chops and stomps his hand before Kofi counters a powerbomb into a head scissors and hits a tope before sending Drew into the steps and Drew hits an Alabama slam onto the apron before yelling to Bobby on the stage as we go to commercial.
Drew hits a snap suplex for two before choking Kofi in the ropes and hitting an overhead belly to belly suplex before sending Kofi into the barricade and back inside before hitting a delayed suplex for two before locking in a straight armbar with a chin bar before Kofi comes back with an enzuigiri and a dropkick. Drew suplexes Kofi for two before sending him into the corner and Kofi stomps him down before choppping Drew in the corner and hitting him with an enzuigiri before Drew meets him up top and counters a superplex. Kofi then hits a diving cross body that Drew rolls through and hits a driver for two before beckoning Bobby to the ring as Bobby makes his way down to ringside as we go back to commercial.
We come back from the break to Drew hitting an avalanche back superplex for two before hitting a sit-out powerbomb for two before Kofi sends Drew into the post and hits a diving splash onto the back of Drew for a near fall before they’re attacked by Bobby and MVP for the double disqualifcation.
Winner: No contest due to double interference.
– After the match Kofi and Drew work together to dispatch of Bobby as MVP helps him to the back.
Rhea Ripley vs Nikki Cross
Rhea counters a take down attempt before Nikki angers her with a forearm and hits a jawbreaker before going up top and hitting a diving cross body for two before hitting a running splash in the corner before Rhea dropkicks her and beats her down in the corner until the time runs out.
Winner: Nikki Cross defeats Rhea Ripley when she lasts the two minute time limit.
– After the match Charlotte Flair comes out to the ring as we go to commercial.
– We get a backstage promo with Damian Priest before we go back to the ring for our next match between Asuka and Charlotte Flair.
Charlotte Flair vs Asuka
Asuka and Charlotte lock up before Charlotte backs Asuka into the corner for a pair of clean breaks before they exchange standing switches and grapple on the mat before Asuka counters a take down and they exchange wrist locks before Charlotte locks in a head scissors and flips Asuka around the ring. Asuka then kicks Charlotte in the midsection and hits a running hip attack in the ropes before Charlotte chop blocks her and focuses on her now injured leg before locking in a knee bar in the ropes before dropping Asuka knee first across the steps as we go to commercial.
We come back from the break to Charlotte in control until Asuka comes back with a sunset flip when Charlotte locks in a Boston crab before locking in an armbar and transitioning to the Asuka Lock before Charlotte gets to the ropes for the break before Asuka hits a German and Charlotte sends her leg into the post. Asuka then hits a sliding knee from the apron before Charlotte sends her into the announce table as we go to commercial.
We come back to Charlotte in control before she hits a draping backbreaker and goes up top before faking a moonsault off of the top and hitting a standing moonsault before Charlotte rolls back and pins the shoulders of Asuka when she goes for the Asuka Lock for the win.
Winner: Charlotte Flair defeats Asuka via pinfall.
Shelton Benjamin vs Cedric Alexander
Shelton beats Cedric down in the corner before whipping him across the ring and turning him inside out before tossing Cedric out of the ring and stomping him against the barricade before tossing him into the barricade and back into the ring before Shelton counters the Neuralizer and Cedric counters the T-Bone suplex. Cedric then hits a frankensteiner for two before Shelton hits a running clothesline in the corner into a spinebuster before hitting a wheel kick and several Germans before Cedric thumbs his eye and hits the Neuralizer for the pin and the win.
Winner: Cedric Alexander defeats Shelton Benjamin via pinfall.
Riddle vs Xavier Woods
Xavier and Riddle back into the corner before spinning around before they grapple on the mat and Riddle locks in a rear naked before Xavier gets to the ropes for the break before locking in a guillotine and a triangle before Riddle gets to the roeps for the break once again. Riddle then hits a gut wrench suplex before they exchange forearms and clothesline each other before they end up on the apron where they exchange strikes until Xavier hits a DVD onto the apron as we go to commercial.
Riddle hits running forearms in the corner into an exploder suplex before hitting a PK into a senton before Xavier hits a head scissors into a missile dropkick for two before countering the Bro-Derek and putting Riddle in the tree of woe before hitting a hesitation dropkick in the corner. Riddle then meets Xavier up top and knocks him down and onto the apron before hitting a knee in the ropes and a German from the apron into the ring for two before hitting a TKO for the pin and the win.
Winner: Riddle defeats Xavier Woods via pinfall.
AJ Styles vs Jaxson Ryker
AJ and Jaxson start the match off with Jaxson using his strength to overwhelm AJ before AJ briefly comes back and Elias attacks AJ from behind before Jaxson finishes and pins AJ for the win.
Winner: Jaxson Ryker defeats AJ Styles via pinfall.
– After the match Omos comes out and chases Jaxson and Elias to the back before sending Elias into the LED board on the stage.
– Kofi and Drew meet with Adam Pearce before Adam makes a number one contender match for the WWE title next week between the two.
– We get a video package for the rivalry between United States champion Sheamus and Humberto Carrillo ahead of their match up next.
Sheamus vs Humberto Carrillo
Sheamus beats Humberto down before tossing him out of the ring and sending him into the barricade before Sheamus drops Humberto when he’s back inside before beating him down against the ropes. Sheamus hits a release suplex before locking in a straight armbar before tearing at his face and mouth and dropping him with a back elbow before clubbing Humberto across the chest. Humberto then sends Sheamus out of the ring and hits a suicide dive before hitting a diving back elbow for two before hitting an enzuigiri and Sheamus counters a clutch into a pin for the win.
Winner: Sheamus defeats Humberto Carrillo via pinfall.
– After the match Sheamus locks in a clove leaf on Humberto before Ricochet saves him out of nowhere and Humberto and Ricochet take turns hitting high flying moves to Sheamus before the champion rolls out of the ring.
– Backstage Nia, Shayna, and Reginald are interviewed backstage ahead of their challenging for the WWE Women’s Tag Team titles before Shayna says that Reginald needs to stay backstage for the match.
WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Match
Natalya & Tamina (c) vs Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler
Natty and Shayna start things off by exchanging submissions before Shayna snaps the arm of Natty and tags in Nia before Natty gets the hot tag to Tamina. Tamina rocks Nia with strikes before superkicking her for two before going up top and Nia grabs her before Tamina counters a Samoan drop and Nia rolls Tamina up for two. Nia and Shayna isolate Tamina until she fights out of the corner and hits Shayna with a powerslam before the champs hit a slingshot into a superkick for a near fall before Tamina and Nia spill out of the ring. Natty hits Shayna with a discus clothesline before Reginald distracts the referee and costs Shayna a pin fall before she yells at him and demands he leave before he goes to leave and fire erupts on the ramp. Natty then pins Shayna off of the distraction with an inside cradle for the win.
Winner: Natalya and Tamina retain their WWE Women’s Tag Team titles by defeating Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax via pinfall.
– After the match Shayna grabs Reginald and yells at him before challenging him to a match for next week as we go off the air.
