Ash Costello: If You Think This Is All You’re Going To See Of Me In Wrestling, You’re Sorely Mistaken
After playing Rhea Ripley to the ring for the biggest moment of her wrestling career, Ash Costello of New Year’s Day promises a return to the world of professional wrestling.
At WrestleMania 37, Rhea Ripley was played to the ring by Ash Costello and then went on to cleanly defeat Asuka for the WWE Raw Women’s Championship.
In interviews prior to the event, Ripley spoke about being excited to share the moment with Costello, who was supposed to play her to the ring at WrestleMania 36 before her match the Charlotte Flair until the global pandemic outbreak.
“So I think it was actually meant to happen last year. I didn’t hear anything about it but she messaged me, saying, ‘I’m sorry, this was supposed to be the moment.’ She had already been contacted by WWE but I got canceled before I heard about it. So they just messaged her this year as well and she said that she was down. It’s incredible because I’ve listened to New Year’s Day, which is the band that she sings in, for years now. I’ve met Ash before and she’s so lovely. I’m so glad that I get to share this WrestleMania moment with her and to know that they haven’t been able to tour and do shows as well and this is one of the biggest things that they’re going to be doing. It’s just out of nowhere. It’s super cool,” Ripley told Renee Paquette.
Now, Ash Costello who took photos backstage at WrestleMania with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon in addition to taking a photo with the new Raw Women’s Champion following her victory has taken to social media to promise that she is not finished appearing in the WWE Universe.
Thank you so much for all of the love this weekend! Being a part of the @WWE family was epic and I had an incredible time at #WrestleMania37 ——–if you think this is all you’re going to see of me in the wrestling world, you’re sorely mistaken —
