Jim Ross, Conrad Thompson, And Dave Meltzer Set To Be Featured In WWE Programming On A&E

WWE’s upcoming programming on the A&E Network will feature some familiar faces.

Back in April of 2019, it was announced that WWE would be bringing special episodes of Biography to the A&E network. Initially, at least three of these episodes were slated to run in Spring of 2020, but, of course, everything in entertainment remains fluid to this day due to the global pandemic.

The five biography episodes will be centered around Randy Savage, Steve Austin, Roddy Piper, Booker T, and Shawn Michaels. Later, it was announced that Triple H and Stephanie will be bringing a series to the network where they search for lost treasures of WWE lore.

From A&E:

The network is also expanding its partnership with WWE Studios for the new series “The Quest for Lost WWE Treasures” (wt) which joins the previously announced greenlight of five “Biography” specials showcasing WWE Legends “Macho Man” Randy Savage, “Rowdy” Roddy Piper, Booker T, Stone Cold Steve Austin and Shawn Michaels.

“The Quest for Lost WWE Treasures” (wt)

A&E Network has greenlit the new series “The Quest for Lost WWE Treasures” (wt) in partnership with WWE Studios which takes viewers on the ultimate hunt to find some of WWE’s most iconic, lost memorabilia. In each episode, WWE’s Stephanie McMahon and Paul “Triple H” Levesque, will lead a team of collectors, WWE Superstars and Legends as they investigate, negotiate, bid and travel across the country to hunt down and reclaim some of the most elusive WWE collectibles.

Throughout history, WWE’s action-packed storylines have spawned iconic, one-of-a-kind memorabilia, most of which is lost in attics, hidden in boxes or even claimed by competitors. Guided by McMahon and Levesque, the series will unearth these rare items in the hopes of preserving and sharing the legacy behind the memorable moments in WWE history. Episodes will feature exclusive WWE footage as well as unprecedented access to the WWE Archives, which holds more than 10,000 rarities including Andre the Giant’s custom boots, Vince McMahon’s cement-filled Corvette, The Undertaker’s caskets and more. Over the course of ten one-hour episodes, WWE Superstars and Legends will give viewers a unique look into WWE history as they seek out the missing treasures that have left a lasting mark on pop culture.

“The Quest for Lost WWE Treasures” (wt) is produced by WWE Studios for A&E Network with Susan Levison and Ben Zierten serving as executive producers. Elaine Frontain Bryant, Dolores Gavin and Jonathan Partridge serve as executive producers for A&E Network. A+E Networks holds worldwide distribution rights for “The Quest for Lost WWE Treasures.”

In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer revealed that he and WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross were interviewed for programming on the A&E Network. It was not specified which program they were interviewed for.

In addition to that, during an interview with Wrestling Inc, Conrad Thompson revealed that he will be involved in the show surrounding lost WWE Treasures, saying that the season finale of the show may be filmed at his house. Conrad, outside of hosting a multitude of podcasts with many wrestling legends, is a collector of wrestling memorabilia.

“I think they’re shooting the finale at my house,” Thompson recalled. [Hausman notes that Thompson has a massive amount of collectibles] “Well, I don’t know about that. I used to have more [Ric] Flair robes than I do now, but I do think that Flair robes will be a part of it. But I assume they’ll want to shoot the big gold belt and things like that, but we’ve had several dates scheduled that have had to be rescheduled for various reasons. I still think the plan is, at some point soon, they’ll be here, and we’ll shoot some stuff, and it should be fun.

“I hope that it does really really well, and I hope that there’s multiple seasons. I hope the rumor and innuendo that we got maybe slipped accidentally by Ric Flair is true and we do get a physical Hall of Fame one day. That’d be a wrestling fan’s dream. [Hausman notes that Flair is never shy in revealing information] I don’t know that everybody’s always tickled with that, but it’s always great for us fans.”

Fightful will report any and all updates regarding WWE programming heading to A&E.
