Report: WWE Films Content At The Collective For Upcoming Documentary On The British Bulldog
WWE is planning a documentary on Davey Boy Smith, The British Bulldog, and was filming content during GCW’s Collective for the upcoming WWE Network content.
The British Bulldog, Davey Boy Smith is one of the most legendary competitors in WWE history. A member of the famous Hart family, Bulldog’s matches against Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, and Owen Hart are critically-acclaimed through generations.
In 2020, after years of fan petitions, Davey Boy Smith was finally going to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. Unfortunately, due to the emergence of COVID-19, all WWE events during WrestleMania weekend were canceled including the 2020 Hall of Fame ceremony. However, WWE does intend on holding the ceremony as soon as possible and according to a report by Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, they are making a documentary on Davey Boy Smith for when the time comes.
Dave reports that a WWE representative was filming Davey Boy Smith Jr. during his time at GCW’s Collective leading up to his fight at Bloodsport on Sunday, October 11, 2020.
Davey Boy Smith Jr. was known as David Hart Smith during his time in WWE where he was a tag team champion alongside Tyson Kidd as part of the Hart Dynasty. His time in WWE came to an end in 2011 and Davey Boy has spent time in New Japan Pro-Wrestling and MLW in recent years.
Fightful will continue to monitor the status of the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony, this most recent class of inductees is also set to honor John Bradshaw Layfield and the New World Order. Fightful will report a concrete date for the ceremony when it is made official.
