Kevin Croom Scrapped From UFC Vegas 8: “I Got Signed And Cut In 24 Hours”
Talk about a short UFC tenure for Kevin Croom.
It was announced on Wednesday that Kevin Croom would step in and replace Giga Chikadze against Alex Caceres at UFC Fight Night Vegas 8. A short-notice booking is typically big news for a regional prospect but the rollercoaster ride stopped abruptly for Croom. The fighter announced he was pulled from the card and released by the UFC within 24-hours of his singing.
Croom announced the news himself through Facebook:
This week has been crazy and it’s only Wednesday! I got signed by the UFC flew to Vegas. Due to things Completely out of my control, I am not fighting. I got signed and cut in 24 hours! But that doesn’t really change anything. I’m one step closer to my goal. I got signed!! I’ve been waiting forever for that. I made it and I will make it again!! Thank you everyone for your support it’s been overwhelming!! This shit is just postponed!!! I’ll be back!!!
There is no word at this time as to who will replace Croom against Caceres at UFC Fight Night Vegas 8 on Saturday.
UFC Fight Night Vegas 8 is set for Saturday, August 29 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with Anthony Smith and Aleksander Rakic headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
