Report: Steve Mowry vs. Rudy Schaffroth Rebooked For Bellator 242
A heavyweight division attraction has been added to Bellator 242 as Steve Mowry is going to be in action against Rudy Schaffroth.
Raphael Marinho of Combate first reported the bout, which was originally slated of Bellator 239.
Mowry (7-0-0) has already picked up three wins under the Bellator MMA banner, with those wins coming over Ben Moa, Darion Abbey and Gokhan Saricam. Mowry had previously competed in the Titan Fighting Championships, winning four or four in the promotion. Mowry has competed seven times as a professional MMA fighter and none of those bouts went the distance.
Schaffroth (6-1-0-1NC) has won two of three in Bellator MMA competition, defeating the duo of Jon Hill and Vernon Lewis. Schaffroth is looking to rebound from his first professional MMA defeat, which came to Tyrell Fortune at Bellator 225. Schaffroth has competed eight times as a professional MMA fighter and seven of them ended within the opening round.
Belllator 242 takes place on Friday, July 24 from the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut with Sergio Pettis and Ricky Bandejas headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be revealed.
