Report: Ramiz Brahimaj vs. Takashi Sato Added To UFC Fight Night: Poirier vs. Hooker
A welterweight division attraction has been added to UFC Fight Night: Poirier vs. Hooker as Ramiz Brahimaj faces Takashi Sato.
Shu Hirata first reported the bout, which is expected to be a part of the preliminary card.
Brahimaj (8-2-0) is going to be making his UFC debut in this fight and the fighter is also returning to action for the first time in over a year. Brahimaj has spent the last two-plus years competing in the Legacy Fighting Alliance, earning a record of 4-2-0 in the promotion. Brahimaj has picked up eight wins as a professional MMA fighter and all of them came by way of submission.
Sato (15-3-0) has won just one of two under the UFC banner, with that lone win coming over Ben Saunders at UFC Fight Night Fort Lauderdale. Sato hasn’t picked up a victory in over a year, as the UFC Fight Night Fort Lauderdale event took place in April of last year. Sato has competed a total of eighteen times as a professional MMA fighter and just three of those bouts went the distance.
UFC Fight Night: Poirier vs. Hooker takes place on Saturday, June 27 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with Dustin Poirier and Dan Hooker headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on ESPN.
