*Spoiler* For 6/12 WWE SmackDown Concerning The Next Step In The Jeff Hardy/Sheamus Program
The following post contains spoilers for the June 12 episode of Friday Night SmackDown.
Continue reading below if you don’t mind spoilers.
As the old saying goes, It’s better to be pissed off than pissed on and Sheamus will be experiencing this first-hand.
According to Gary Cassidy of Sportskeeda, Sheamus will demand that Jeff Hardy take a drug test on the go-home show before the 2020 Backlash pay-per-view as he refuses to face a “junkie” on pay-per-view. Sheamus is certain that Jeff Hardy’s urine sample won’t come back clean and he gets an up-close examination of that sample as it gets thrown in his face.
This is a continuation of the angle that WWE has been running on SmackDown in recent weeks where Jeff Hardy has to continue adamantly fighting that he is maintaining his sobriety while Sheamus continues to poke the bear and insist that it’s only a matter of time before Jeff Hardy falls back off the wagon,
As for the drug test skit, WWE has utilized this specific segment once before back in 2006 when Shawn Michaels was preparing to face Mr. McMahon at WrestleMania. McMahon and his son, Shane, would both have the “urine” of HBK thrown in their face after Shawn Michaels reminded them that it is “better to be pissed off than pissed on.”
WWE would go on to confirm that a contract signing between the two will take place this week on SmackDown.
Sheamus has taken every opportunity to stand in the way of Jeff Hardy’s comeback, and on Friday night, he won’t have to search far to find him. The Charismatic Enigma and The Celtic Warrior will come face to face for a contract signing before they meet at WWE Backlash.
The animosity between the two accomplished Superstars reached a new level after chaos, as a hit-and-run incident involving Elias resulted in the arrest of Hardy. Last week, as Hardy attempted to explain his side of the story, Sheamus interrupted with his own message of a vicious Brogue Kick and repeated throws into the plexiglass.
Will the contract signing cause tensions boil over before the rivalry heads into WWE Backlash?
