Chuck Liddell Takes The Role Of Peacemaker During Huntington Beach Protests

The world has been dealing with the anger surrounding the death of George Floyd through protesting, with some of those protests turning violent.

A protest recently took place in Huntington Beach, California and former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Chuck Liddell was involved in those protests, in the role of peacemaker.

ABC7 out of California obtained footage of Liddell attending the protest and helping calm the situation down when one protestor started getting a little too aggressive:

“It’s good to see people defending their city,” said Liddell (via Nolan King of MMA Junkie). “It’s terrible. Violence begets violence. Violence doesn’t help anybody. We all know what happened (to George Floyd) was wrong. Everybody I know thinks it was wrong. It’s hard to watch. This doesn’t help it. Destroying cities, destroying people, hurting people does not do any good for anybody. Hey, protest all you want; just do it peacefully.”

Liddell isn’t the only former or current UFC star to get involved in the protests, as UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones and UFC Middleweight Champion Israel Adesanya have also taken part in the proceedings.
