Mike Tyson Shows Off Power Hitting The Mitts, Is Considering Fighting In Exhibitions; MLW Interested

Even at 53 years old and nearly 15 full years removed since his last pro bout, Mike Tyson is still hitting the mitts strong.

A video recently surfaced of the former heavyweight world champion hitting the mitts with incredible power and speed, showing shades of his past self that saw him dominate the heavyweight division for years. But the flashy punching isn’t just for show, as he revealed in an interview with Yahoo Sports that he is getting in shape and is thinking about potentially doing some exhibition fights in the future.

“I’ve been hitting the mitts for the last week. That’s been tough, my body is really jacked up and really sore from hitting the mitts. I’ve been working out, I’ve been trying to get in the ring, I think I’m going to box some exhibitions and get in shape. I want to go to the gym and get in shape to be able to box three or four-round exhibitions for some charities and stuff. Some charity exhibitions, make some money, help some homeless and drug-affected motherfucker like me,” Tyson said.

That quote already caught the attention of some people, even in pro wrestling. MLW’s Court Bauer recently tweeted that he would be on board with bringing Tyson to an exhibition match inside an MLW ring. Tyson already has experience being a part of a wrestling ring as he was the special guest enforcer for the WWF Championship between Shawn Michaels and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin at WrestleMania 14.

Tyson has not fought professionally since he lost to Kevin McBride back in 2005 and his last win was against Clifford Etienne in 2003.
