Report: UFC 250 Not Happening In Brazil
UFC Bantamweight Champion Henry Cejudo is scheduled to defend the gold against former UFC Featherweight Champion Jose Aldo in the main event of UFC 250, which is supposed to take place from the Ibirapueroa Gymnasium in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
However, due to the government of Brazil enacting restrictions on gatherings due to the coronavirus, it appears that UFC 250 could be moved to a different location.
Raphael Marinho of Combate first reported the news, while also reporting that Aldo and former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Mauricio Rua have been told by the UFC to be ready to travel outside of Brazil for the event.
There is no word at this time as to where the event could be held, but the report from Marinho states that a location in the United States is what the UFC is aiming for,
This isn’t the first UFC event affected by the coronavirus, as the promotion has already postponed three events (UFC Fight Night London, UFC Fight Night Columbus and UFC Fight Night Portland), while UFC 249 is still without a location as of this writing.
UFC 250 takes place on Saturday, May 9 from a location to be announced with Henry Cejudo and Jose Aldo headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
