LFA 84 To Be Postponed Due To Coronavirus, April Events Under Review
Yet another MMA promotion has been affected by the coronavirus as the Legacy Fighting Championships has decided to postpone next weekends LFA 84 card. The promotion also has two events scheduled for next month, LFA 85 and LFA 86, which are currently under review, but no decision has been made yet on their status.
The promotion issued the following press release on the matter:
LFA 84 postponed due to Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. April LFA events under review.
LAS VEGAS – LFA officials have been closely monitoring the latest developments regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic nationwide and abroad.
In response to growing awareness, concern, and an imminent threat of exacerbating the spread of the virus via large crowds at our live events, LFA officials have coordinated with government officials, state athletic commissions, and our venue partners throughout the week.
We have collectively determined that moving forward with LFA 84 on Friday, March 20th in Phoenix, Arizona would not be safe given the world’s current health crisis.
LFA 84 will be postponed and rescheduled at a later date.
The status of our April events, LFA 85 in Colorado (April 3rd) and LFA 86 in South Dakota (April 17th), are currently under review.
Providing a safe environment for our fans, fighters, and staff is our top priority.
Through public health agencies such as the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO), we are staying on top of the latest updates and developments as they occur. We are also in close communication with local public health officials to determine what additional safeguards may need to be implemented moving forward.
This is an evolving situation and any actions we take will be consistent with guidelines from these agencies.
Please continue to visit our website (LFA.com) to learn of any changes to the event schedule as they become available.
Updates will also be posted to our official social media accounts: Facebook at Legacy Fighting Alliance, Instagram at @LFAfighting and Twitter at @LFAfighting.
